Our stay at the pafian sun village was a most pleasurable experience. The accomodation itself was very comfortable and all the staff were most friendly and helpful.
The food was excellent,we could not fault it at all.
The only problem we did have which had no bearing on our stay in Paphos at all, was when we made our return journey home. We had to pay 55 euro for excess baggage which was fair enough but it was made totally uinfair when a Cypriot lady on our flight was told she was 30 kilo over and did not have to pay anything!! We have since complained to the airline concerned who are saying they will look into it but did not believe what we were telling them. The whole situation with hand luggage on this flight was horrendous with people classing large bags and cases as hand luggage. We just want people to know that you will love this particular hotel and Paphos itself but beware who you fly with as it appears to be one rule for one and one for another, and also this was the most uncomfortable plane aswell to travel on with such a distinct lack of space in the seating area.

We have just returned from the best holiday ever in the pafian sun. The food and service were excellent. The rooms were clean and comfortable and even though we went
all inclusive there was still a fridge toaster and kettle in our appartment. At the time we were there the kids club was still closed but the entertainment crew were brilliant entertaining the kids and adults alike from 10 in the morning till 12 at night. My kids acctually cried on the coach going to the airport as they didnt want to go home. Their opinion was this is better than euro disney. So a big thank you to all the entertainers (chris, billy, gemma, amilllia, sadie and becky) and to Terrie the rep who was always on hand if needed. Thumbs up to Thomas Cook and all at the Pafian Sun I hope to get back soon and I will only ever use Thomas Cook with any future holidays u were all fantastic. My only complaint is that i won a tea bag in the nightly draw and not a cruise but hey at least i got something lol.

My wife and I recently (oct) holidayed in paphos sun village which boasts a 4 star hotel rating (in their dreams). This proved a nightmare with rooms cleaned twice i
n two weeks (I think maybe once) only two towels per seven days and a maid service 5 days a week. The rooms were basic and unclean and bathrooms & rooms were extremely shoddy and polluted with ants..Under the so called dressing table was a large spiders web which obviously was never cleaned. When we arrived we had no hot water for three days and on day 1 when we requested a change of room/or change of hotel we were told it was not posssible and if we insisted, then the charge would be 520euros. Although the food was good the entertainment provided was 3rd rate. (never again)

Fantastic holiday grounds kept well lovely sea views from the rooms though they are in need of upgrading. Entertainment fair, the team did their best.
The staff were
very friendly. Food was excellent a different theme every night. So much variety. The best food we have had on an all inclusive. Though it was plastic glasses drinks were nice it was carlsberg and keo both nice lagers and the wine was good too. Though the rooms need an upgrade we would return again

Great relaxing holiday. Really enjoyed the evening entertainment with the rep's!
Date of review:1 Aug 2011
The room was 2 +. Clean enough but quite basic, minimal wardrobe space, we lived mainly out of cases. air con was effective though. The food was good but the restrau
nt tables were too close together and returning to your table after having visited the buffet was tricky. The entertainment in the evening was truly insulting with 4 Thomas Cook reps putting on a caberet show each night after bingo! One of the four reps had an average singing voice the others were appalling. I will say that they worked hard all day and i blame TC for perhaps asking too much of them. Why local acts cant be brought in, I am not sure.
Ants are everywhere and I marvelled at thier work ethic.
The main pool was noisy (music) and busy but there is a quiter pool that you can go to, where you can entartain yourself. i found it more relaxing.
Drinks in plastic cups and no more than 2 at a time, so you will find yourself queing. And the portly guy at the outside bar but the main pool likes to put his hands in the ice bucket, in ordr to keep cool (im guessing) either way I left the ice, when he was on duty.
Sunbeds...get up at 07.30 at the latest if you want one.
My girls, 10 and 13, had the best ever holiday and once i had accepted the issues above, I relaxed the second week. This is no way a 4 star hotel though.

We travelled to the Pafian Sun with our 7 year old daughter at the end of August. We would not return to this Hotel. The food was edible but not much choice, and pret
ty bland. You had to get up before 7am if you wanted a sunbed, and there were not many unberellas available. The Staff were very friendly and helpfull. We had ants on our mattress when we arrived but this was dealt with quickly. The nightly entertainment was rubbish, Bingo everynight followed by the reps singing every night!!! The Pool itself was very lovely and kept clean and the public areas were also spotless. We booked this hotel mainley because of the kids world club but actually you had to pay for most of the activies and even then the sessions were very short. The best time on this holiday was when we hired a car and went away from the Hotel into Paphos. Will return to Cyprus just not to this hotel. Would not rate this as 4*.

We stayed at the Pafian Sun Holiday Village in August 2011 and had a fantastic time. The hotel was lovely, had a great pool with amazing views and we couldn't fault
the food or drink in the all inclusive option. As 2 teachers, we were worried about the hotel being 'family friendly' as we just wanted a week away without children! Although there were lots of families, this didn't prove a problem at all and I would certainly recommend this hotel to young couples. Entertainment was good too and lots going on all day and night - Thomas Cook entertainment team worked their socks off! Great location with 2 bus stops right outside hotel; buses will take you all over the island on a day ticket that costs 2 euros each.
Just a shame that Thomas Cook's service before and after the holiday has been awful!!

Accomodation acceptable but definately not 4* as lead to believe from brochure, food good, nice pool, room spacious but very dated, water coming through light fittin
g, socket hanging off wall in bathroom. entertainment very poor, we have two teenage lads who were not at all impressed. Bar accross the road waste of time (empty). nothing within walking distance so thank god for the excellent bus service, the bus stop is just at the front off reception. We had to be out of rooms at 12 noon on last day, and flight home wasn't until midnight, we weren't allowed to keep our room on and there is no courtesy room available. We have never experienced this before. Having said all this it is a delightfull village setting in desparate need of some TLC.

Beautiful location overlooking the bay is the only good comment I can make. Very basic apartments if you're lucky enough to get a first floor balcony this is margina
lly better if not you have a staircase to the upper apartment directly outside your bedroom window. Drinks are sickly sweet, restaurant unbearably hot possibly so you don't stay too long. Need to be up at 6am to get a sunbed despite warnings from the management that towels would be removed and left on the stage for people to collect (this never happened). My childrens white swimwear turned yellow in the quiet pool (I was assured it was quite safe for them to carry on swimming in there???) I could go on and on definitely not 4 star but a lesson learnt to read previous holiday reviews BEFORE booking a holiday in the future. P.S. Reps very good when we had to change rooms 3 times in first 2 days!

I booked my holiday with Thomas Cook we paid £3600 for 2 weeks fully inclusive on 26th July 2011 and was so looking forward to a nice family annual holiday but was s
o disappointed as the hotel was not as described. The room we got was very basic with badly fitted furniture, smelly portable bed in the middle of sitting room, ants and cockroaches everywhere, torn curtains and in need and refurbishment as was the rest of the hotel. The food was excellent but the waitress service terrible as they grabbed plates of unfinished food without asking and leaned over our plates of food with long hair draping into our food. The entertainment was terrible except on Sunday nights when new entertainers came in that could actually sing and dance. I would have cancelled and returned home on the first night if I could but I could not so had a terrible time on a boring smelly holiday, I was so disappointed.

Arrived quite late at night and it was dark. Had to find our own hotel room which was a challenge as room numbers not easy to see in the dim lighting. Seems Maid had
only just washed the floor to our room as it was heavily wet when we went in. Toilet stank like a dirty urinal. Very disappointed with the room generally. Rooms were not cleaned properly the whole week we stayed, fresh towels were only changed twice a week which seemed a bit skanky. The towels themselves had seen better days and were really small. We had cockroaches in our room every evening, presumably because the rooms were not cleaned. The bar area only offered drinks in little plastic cups, apparently this is due to wastage. Certainly not 4* standard. The cocktails were a bit naff. On the up note, the food was really good and plentiful and they catered for every nationality. Hotel staff were very helpful.

Great for family holiday. Been going twice a year for past 6 years. Still cant find any real faults. Heplful to hire a car, but local buses frequent from opposite re
sort. Entertainment is not a big issue for us, but we do enjoy local entertainers which they didnt have when we were there last month. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Will be returning next year, hopefully with the whole family this time. Why go self catering when there is such a choice of food, even for the fussiest of eaters.

Rooms cleaned most days, and accommodation comfortable - except for the sofa bed in the lounge which was very uncomfortable. Entertainment team worked hard - obviously it was near the end of the season but they still put a lot of effort in to the shows at night etc

side of the main road.No television for Sky Or ESPN at the Pafian. The Food was First Class. Our rooms were more like self catering rooms. It was poor the local bus servies if you wanted to go to a completely new region in Cyprus. As the 2 of us are non-drivers.Generally the activities and pool areas were first class.

After previous reviews we really didn't know to expect but shouldn't have worried - the holiday was just what our family needed. No it's not a 4 star but then I knew
that from the price we paid and yes there were some areas that could have been better - however overall we had a great time. The rooms were basic but fine for the little time we spent there. They were lovely and large and kept spotlessly clean. We did have an issue with ants but the staff dealt with it promptly and we never saw them in the room again. The hotel itself is bit out of the way so a stroll after dinner wasn't really an option but the buses to Paphos were regular and cheap if a little crowded at times. Reserving sunbeds was a pest - 6am was far too early but if you wanted beds you had no choice.
The entertainment team worked really hard day and night although our children didn't find alot for them being 8 and 12 - it was really aimed at the little ones (mini disco) and older teens/adults for pool activities. However, being August they made lots of friends and entertained themselves in the pools.
The food was great - enough variety for us all but then we are not fussy eaters and there was always something on offer which wasn't good for the waistline!
Overall we had a great holiday - it suited us as a family. Yes it was a bit like Butlins in the sun but then that's just what our children loved and if they enjoy themselves then so do we.

I went on holiday with my husband, my 16 yr old daughter and her friend. We all had a wonderful time. The accommodation was clean and our apartment was overlooking t
he main pool. The pool areas (the main one and a smaller quieter one) were very clean with a good number of sunloungers available. We could always find a spare lounger at anytime during the day. The food was quite amazing. Such variety and freshly cooked. The hot food was indeed hot and the cold food was very well chilled. I had read in some reviews prior to our holiday that alcohol was was watered down - we did not experience this at all. Their measures were very generous too :-) The entertainment was really good. Lots of variety for the adults and children. The Thomas Cook reps/entertainment team and the resort staff were all very friendly and helpful. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't think twice about recommending this resort to our family and friends.

had a great 1 week all inclusive at pafian sun. We had a 1 bedroom apartment which was basic but very large and clean. maid service 5 out of 7 days. we found the foo
d very good always plenty to eat and good variety. Apart from one grumpy waitress found the rest to be very friendly especially bar staff. lovely setting overlooking sea. There are three pools. One is indoor which is quite nice if you need to cool down. Thomas Cook entertainment team where very good. During the afternoon they have activities for teenagers and waterpolo etc. for adults. At night there is mini disco for young kids, bingo and then a show of some sort . This hotel is a wee bit out the way but there is a good bus service and it only costs 1 euro to go anywhere in paphos. We went to the waterpark one day which was quite good. Overall I would say this is a great place to go although I would probably recomend it more for families with young children My 14 year old enjoyed some of it but did get a bit bored.

not much for teenagers to do,all my 13 yr old could find to do was swim all day and use the internet facility at night.
its very very hot from july onwards, ants on patio which didnt seem to bother us,but the mosquitos did!
overall, a very good holiday,(apart from last 2 nights of having 10-15 teenagers running wild and jumping in the pools, language was bad! )

The hotel was lovely, despite a couple of problems at check in which were dealt with very quickly! We had 27 of us in our party and every one had a great time! Plent
y of entertainment, might not be to every one's taste, but a good laugh all the same! Food was very good, it reapeted itself on week 2, but it was always beautifully cooked, presented and replenished very frequently which kept it hot. We got married whilst we were away, in paphos town hall, and the thomas cook wedding co-ordinator was fantastic (Thank you Paula if you read this!) She made sure we got everything that we wanted and our day was perfect!

Food was good plenty to choose from. Bus stop was right opposite so easy access to Coral Bay and Paphos Harbour. There is a bar directly opposite the complex which was great we only used it to watch the world cup in tho, also there is a supermarket opposite complex best going there for water as very cheap the on site shop was quite dear. We booked this holiday last minute and got a good deal, which if we'd had paid full price I would have requested a transfer on arrival. The room we were assigned had
damp, broken air con, a bed that was ready to collapse and cockroaches. I quickly requested a different room, which was really difficult due to the member of staff on reception not being able to speak english and he seemed to think that offering me air freshner to cover up the damp smell would resolve the problem. After around 30 minutes he finally gave us keys to a different room, which was in a better state, although still very basic and not what anyone would expect for a 4* resort, I've had better 2* accommodation in Greece.
We were both extremely thankful for the quieter pool and the only member of staff we found to be friendly working in the pool bar. At least then we didn't have to listen to the constant noise the so call entertainment team were making and the occassional pool evacutations due to someone pooing in it.
The restaurant only had air-con working in one area (bearing in mind the temperature didn't go below 35 degrees all week), it was dated and the staff couldn't always cope with the customers (I dread to think what they'd do if the hotel was to it's full capacity). The food was ok, but it would have been nice to have more traditional food and the Brits don't have chips & cauliflower with every meal!
Thomas Cook and Sentido need to do some serious work on this place to make it a 4 * resort, may I suggest they get a couple of their review/management team to visit a true 4* resort (ie Baron Palms Resort in Sharm el Sheikh) and compare notes. I would strongly recommend anyone considering this hotel to book elsewhere, you'll get more for your money and bit of that luxury we all expect from a 4* resort.

is perfect for a young family. The accommodation itself was basic but extremely clean. Food at the resort was actually much better than I was expecting. Accommodation was in an ideal spot, if you wanted to venture off the complex then both bus stops were right outside, one taking you to Coral beech and the other into Paphos. My family and i have been visiting Cyprus for the last 6 years and adore the island, so much so we were married in protaras in 2009! This year we decided to take our
holiday in Paphos. Our hotel was very far out the way and had to take a bus if we wanted to go anywhere, which was not easy with young children and a pushchair! We stayed all inc and food was fantastic, beer was ok but didn't go much on wine or spirits. Rooms were ok but not 4 star, very dated and basic, we upgraded to superior and was no better! I would say if you like to stay by the pool all holiday then this would be an ideal holiday. BE WARNED AVOID LOCAL BANK HOLIDAYS AS LOCALS TAKE OVER!!! This did put a bit of a downer on our holiday as it was like going to butlins but much worse. For young families i would recommend going to Protaras, in future this is where we will be sticking to.

we had read reviews by various people some saying it was good some saying it was bad. we dont really take notice of reviews as everyone has a different opinion. we a
rrived at our hotel at 01.30 and was surprised when the receptionist gave us our key and directions to our room and said fill in registration form and bring it back in the morning. this was brilliant not having to stand there and fill forms in when you just want to go to your room and go to bed. the room was big and newly painted. the walls where a bit bare they needed pictures on them, and they had no long mirrow although they had 2 small mirrows( this is a woman thing-long mirrows). the 2 pools were a good size and the surrounding area was big enough for the sun lounges. although the sun lounges were not very comfortable they needed the foam with vinyl covering to go on top. the food and drink was exerlent with enough varieties for everyone. ( including vegaterians and dieters). the animation team provided entertainment throughout the day if you wanted to join in. the night time entertaiment was very good. these people were lively and enthusiastic.the kids club was very good we heard from couples with children. the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. phafos and coral beach are a short bus ride away but would recommed hiring a car to be able to visit these places as well as limassol and nicosia. definatley a holiday for all generations and people with children. will probably re-visit in the next 2 years. the ash cloud delayed our return by 21 hours but we were put up in a hotel over night and given food and drink. this was exerlent service by thomas cook.

The best part of the holiday for us was the day and night entertainment provided by gemma, georgia and chris who were excellent they never let us down and were always so full of energy. Through the day there were quizzes the head to head show down which was hilarious every day as well as football and volley ball in the pool. The weather in october was a very nice suprise being in the 30s nearlly every day, all in all this was the best holiday in recent years thanks largely to the thomas cook team in the pafian sun .

knew what you was getting as we were all inclusive, we ate out a couple of nights just for a change. The accomodation was clean and big, we had an appartment right at the pool, which was great. The only thing was the entertainment was pretty poor in the evening, due to it just being the reps who do this, and they did a good job. There are two pools one where all the activities happen and a quieter pool in the newer complex, so if you want a quiet day it is not a problem. There is a bus right outside the complex if you wish to go into paphos.
