The weather was fantastic, location was good if you do not want to be in the heart of Paphos. Avanti hotel was clean and friendly the only thing I had a problem with
was the beds the worst bed I have ever slept in. Apart from that the holiday was very nice.

Booked this hote as it was down the road from where my sister was getting married.
I found the staff more than helpful throughout my visit with any request.
The pool
area was good with plenty of sunbeds and entertainment. The restaurant was of a good size and the food was of an exceptional quality.

What a fabulous hotel , food outstanding with a wide range of choice , staff overall very friendly and helpful , only annoying part is the bar within the hotel , kee
p an eye on your bill as while we was there we had a few occasions , when the change was incorrect , so please keep your receipts . The manager/supervisor isn`t very friendly ! Please do not let this put you off its only an observation . We had a lovely holiday , lots to do and this was our seventh visit to Cyprus , the Homers love it . Homer recommends this hotel , its a top DOH !!!!

Having been at this hotel the previous year and having had a fabulous hoilday with no problems, we were disappointed to be put into a room where the airconditioning
was not working. Twice we asked for it to be fixed and twice it wasn't. They did leave a card in the electricity slot so that the very limited cool air (which could not be felt more than a foot away from the unit) was on 24/7. On complaining to the Thomas Cook rep on site, she got us moved rooms that day and she was extremely helpful -BUT - when we moved to another room, they were moving more incoming people to a room without air con! The room we moved to had a dodgy lock on the door and we frequently had to get assistance to get into our room, but that was preferable to having a room with no air con. Our daughter, who went on a separate booking also with Thomas Cook, had a problem with HUNDREDS of ants marching through her room and behind her bed, again, the problem was only addressed when the Thomas Cook Rep dealt with it, and not when we twice previously asked for the room to be sprayed. You always expect a few ants or beasties in hot countries but this was completely unacceptable. One afternoon we went to the bar in the reception area to get a cool drink in a cool area. The waitress had just gone for her lunch, so we had to wait 20 minutes till she came back for our drink. Not what you expect of a 4 star hotel!!! We used the squash court, which was 4 euros for the hire of the court, 4 euros each for the raquets (which had definitely seen better days!) and we were told we needed lots of 50cent coins for the electricity meter. One 50cent coin gave us 3 minutes electricity!!! Could they not have been more honest and charged a fee upfront which included the electricity for a set amount of time, say 30 minutes? And at that price for the hire of equipment - I'm sure they could afford to replace it when it starts to wear out.
We had a lovely holiday despite these points, but we feel that the hotel is not living up to its previously excellent standard, which is a great shame, and we would seriously reconsider returning to this hotel.

I've never been to Cyprus before but was in need of some winter sun so I decided to go to Paphos on the recommendation of a Cypriot/British friend. And she wasn't wr
ong.
I stayed at Hotel Avanti which is set back behind the main strip of hotels on the beach which made it made it a quiet oasis after the bustle of the more crowded block of hotels on the front.
As for the Hotel. I don't think I have every stayed at a more staff friendly hotel. They are both genuinely friendly and efficient without being intrusive. As a single travellor I am used to staying in rooms which are really small and at the back of a hotel. However the accommodation at Hotel Avanti was spacious, light and bright with a balcony and a double bed. It had the usual in room facilities i.e. tv., a kettle and a complimentary pack of tea and coffee, as well as a safe for which you paid 14 euros for the week and the usual bathroom shampoo etc. The bath was nice and deep with constant hot water.
The Hotel has a a number of repeat travellors. One couple I spoke to said it was their eigth visit. The Hotel is not geared up for a younger crowd, which would appeal to some holiday makers and not others. The Hotel offers evening entertainment as well as during the day. If the evening's offer is not to your taste then it's only a twenty min walk to the harbour where you will find a variety of entertainment on offer from bars, clubs, upmarket places to eat as well as cafe's.
The food at the Hotel is buffet style and they even had a children's buffet.
The only negative aspect of the holiday was the fact the outdoor and indoor swimming pools were not heated and so taking a dip involved first taking a very deep breath and holding it until you got out of the pool! According to my Cypriot/British friend this is a common complaint throughout Cyprus but the sea is only a five minute walk away and was a lot warmer.
My booking of the holiday through Thomas Cook couldn't have been easier. I booked online and got stuck at one point but within seconds an operator provided easy to follow on screen help. The reps at the airport and Hotel were also pleasant and helpful particularly in light of the fact the luggage belts at Paphos airport had broken down which meant the queues were extra long and some people's tempers became a little frayed.

stayed at avanti hotel paphos. hotel is good but would say it is a 3 star hotel rather than 4 star hotel. pool area could be untidy at times and when we stayed in Au
gust there was not always loungers available and towels were placed on loungers at night time. gardens around pool area required attention. Breakfasts were quite good, best I have had at a hotel in Europe. room was small for 3 people.

I booked the holiday after reading reviews on trip advisor, all which gave nothing but praise for the hotel and amenities. We wanted a holiday that encompassedall of
us as it was probably our last family holiday as our duaghter is going off to uni in September. My son, who does not like sunbathing, wanted a holiday where, now that he is 16, he could take part in activities such as waterpolo and volleyball. The animation team, JaJa and Boti, did enough to encourage people to take part in a variety of activities, such as archery, darts and a daily quiz, but not so much that anyobne felt forced to take part. I cannot lie in the sun as I get prickly heat and burn easily so wanted aholiday with activities also. Whereas my husband wanted a week in the son and my daughter is happy reading. We were on a half board option which was good value for money, considering the price of food in retaurants nearby, and the food was alwyas varied enough for everyone to get a decent meal. Drinks at the hotel were not extortionate compared to hotels in the UK, they were comparable to bars in the area. The evening entertainment wasn't the best we have ever seen, but nor was it the worst. The terrace though was very small to accommodate all who did wish to watch the entertainment. The Avanti village terrace and stage area are much larger (next door) but all the entertainment was carried out at the hotel. The only negative part of the room was the bed was way too hard, and as I have a bad back I struggled to get moving in a morning after having spent a night in that bed. I would definiteky consider revisiting this hotel.

This was one of my best holidays. .I went with just my husband. We are young and recently married, so we went with the intention of relaxing and enjoying time with e
ach other in comfort and that was exactly what we got in the Avanti Hotel!! The staff at this place were so friendly and couldnt do enough for you. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the pool was just lovely! The beds and towels changed everyday.. The only thing about cyprus as a whole is that its fairly expensive so take plenty as there are so many beautiful resturants and bars around. The harbour is a good 20 minute walk from Avanti but it is a nice walk. The beach is ok, small, but the pool area was so nice we rarely went..overall we had a fantastic time and would recommend this to couples, familys or lone travellers. Would definatly go back!! :)

The Avanti Village is situated in a good position with plenty of restaurants and bars in close proximity and easy access to the town centre (5 minute drive).l
The A
vanti Hotel was a 5 minute walk with squah and tennis available although the equipment was fairly expensive to hire and not very well looked after.
The pool was quite large and fairly quiet during the first week this got very busy during the second week
The beach is close by but is quite stoney and the sea was fairly choppy

Both myself and my husband have been for a weeks holiday break at the Avanti Hotel in Phathos Cyprus. Cyprus is my favourite destination as the weather is fabulous t
he resort is clean and plenty to keep anybody of all ages entertained wether you want a quiet holiday or an adventure.
This time we stayed at the Avanti Hotel which is a 4* on a bed and breakfast board, the Avanti is a nice hotel not fabulous but clean and tidy with a lovely swimming pool and plenty of sun loungers for all. Its about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the main resort and there are plenty of bars by the sea to sit and have a relaxing drink.

Thouroughly enjoyed our 11 Night stay at the 4 Star Avanti Hotel. Really warm and sunny weather. Big and spacious pool with lots af sun loungers. The hotel facilitie
s has an indoor swimming pool, gym, jacuzzi and spa. Did not use any of the facillities but will hopefully use them on our next holiday to the Avanti Hotel. guest staying at the Avanti Hotel and vice versa could use each others Hotel facilities which is a good point, you could also borrow a towel everyday to use around the pool. Efficient and friendly service was given from the 24 hour check in/reception desk. As we had booked as Bed & Breakfast and we had tried to upgrade to Half Board but we were not allowed. When we were on holiday, we had the option to pay 72 Euros for 3 evening meals which worked out at 12 Euros each person. Every night is different food, for example Tuesday night was a Mediteranean, Wednesday night was a Carvery and Saturday night was a BBQ. The food was okay but they're were the bestest desserts, like a chocolate gatuex dessert, black forest gateux. There was also lots of fruit and cheese and biscuits. If you dont want to eat dinner in the hotel then there are lots of nice restaurants to choose from like your traditional English Bar/Restaurant to your Italian and Indian/Chinese and Cypriot/Greek Restaurants. Yum Yum.

Myself and boyfriend, both in our late 20s, enjoyed an excellent 14 nights in the Avanti Hotel, Cyprus. The hotel is only a 20 min bus ride from the airport and in s
et in a really good location, a short walk into the main eating and drinking area of Pahos, by the harbour. However, if you didnt feel like walking down to the harbour, directly opposite the hotel there are a few really nice bars which serve nice food and all the drinks you would expect. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The pool was huge and surrounded by sunloungers and even though the hotel seemed quite busy, there was never any problems in getting a sunlounger at any time of the day and the pool rarely had more than 2 or 3 people in at a time, leaving me and my boyfriend to practice our handstands without disturbing anyone!!
We were on a half board basis as the price was the same as B&B and we were really pleased with the food - each night had a different theme being BBQ, Greek, etc and the food was of a high standard, and even as a vegetarian there was always plenty of choice. The food was watched over by the most friendly and proud chef I have ever seen, who was keen to tell you all about the food. Drinks were more expensive in the restaurant than the bar area for some reason, and we ran a tab for the whole two weeks and paid at the end. Great holiday - great hotel and would definitely recommend!
