Cyprus is beautiful
Just to say that our recent holiday with Thomas Cook was one of the nicest holidays we have taken. my sister and I stayed at the Mediterranean Beach Hotel in Limmasol and were very impressed with the location, right on the beach, the beautiful gardens and the quality of the food and service whilst we were there. everything went like clockwork from checkin to checkout with minimum fuss and very easy transfers to the hotel. safe in the room was a real bonus too.
I'd definitely recommend the hotel, the pool and spa were lovely, especially the pool bar. bar prices were a bit on the high side but there were plenty of places close by to wander into.
thanks for everything...we had a great time.

We always have a great time in Cyprus and have stayed at the Med hotel 3 times. The location and facilities are great but the standard rooms are not what I would call 4 star. Land facing rooms overlook a very busy extremely noisy road and despite 2 sets of double glazing the traffic is still loud. The rooms themselves are very basic and rather dark. The spa facilities (showers and changing rooms) are also very basic for a 4 star hotel. When booking we were given the option of a late checkout room on our last day as we had an evening flight. When it came to the last day we were told no such facility exists at the Med hotel. We only ate breakfast at the hotel and this was excellent.
With regard to the flight - outbound was fine. Return flight took off at 23.30 and I for one was hoping to get some sleep but the cabin crew were marching up and down the aisle for the full 5 hours trying to sell us stuff. This was intolerable. Having said that, there were no delays in either direction and everything ran smoothly.

party time in limassol
We really enjoyed our holiday in the Mediterrean Hotel, excellant experience, It was our 1st visit to Cyprus & will definitely return. As we enjoy walking one evening we found a delightful bar called Taps just over 5 mins away, we made this our local watering hole for the rest of our time. They have a serve yourself system which my husband found great fun, whereas I found their cocktails irrestible.

Could have been good......
Well the hotel facilities are good and the staff are very good.
Unfortunately the accommodation spoilt what would otherwise would have been a good holiday.
The rooms are right next to the road, I had to sleep with earplugs in to deaden the traffic noise, the room is about the same standard as a Travellodge back home i.e adequate but not really 4*, and also some coffee/tea facilities would have been nice (especially given the high prices in the hotel)
We did try to arrange a different room (even offering to pay more) but were told they were fully booked.
The Thomas Cook rep couldn't help either.
I'd recommend Cyprus as long as you're not expecting the cheap prices of pre Euro times but can't recommend the hotel at all

honeymoon in cyprus
i got married on 25th oct 2008 and after hearing good reports about cyprus from friends , i decided to book our honeymoon for 5th nov 2008 through thomas cook online. i had chosen thomas cook as our travel companion as other members of my family had flown with them before and were well pleased with the friendly staff, being at the destination to meet you, take you to your bus and on to your hotel or apartments. all hassle free and easy for the first time traveller like us. we stayed half board at the mediterreanan beach hotel in limassol. the hotel staff were extremely friendly, the room service was fabulous, clean beds and rooms, beds changed daily and there was great food available at almost all times of the day. shops were within walking distance. during the day, there was a pool bar which sold snacks, drinks and alcohol all in the pleasure of the pool surroundings and the beach was just down at the bottom of the hotels garden. you could sit in the pool and have a pint at your leisure. there were also water sports on the hotels beach. you could go on boat trips which we did to the ladys mile beach which was amazing. friendly staff on board and had an hour on that beach to relax before starting your journey back to the hotel. the weather was also a great part of the holiday. temperatures ranging from 25 to 30 degrees in november which was one of our main attractions to cyprus. . thomas cook's holiday rep arranged a meeting in the hotel to tell you about day trips, places of interest, where to go and where to avoid. the hotel offered its guest so much eg hairdressers, shops, 3 restaurants, 3 bars, spa, sauna jacuzzi steam rooms, massages etc all at reasonible costs. for anyone looking for a relaxing holiday, quiet resort, peaceful surroundings, lovely friendly people, nice shops, honeymoons etc limassol is the perfect place. i would have no doubts in returning to cyprus for future holidays and will be doing so with thomas cook! overall we had a great holiday, thanks to thomas cook who were always close at hand if you had any problems. thanks thomas cook and mediterreanan beach hotel!!!!
