Excellent late holiday in Ayia Napa In October 2012
We holidayed in Ayia Napa 20 years ago so it was amazing to see the excellent changes to this resort. We got the impression the whole island of Cyprus is going through a total refurbishment. Ayia Napa has some fabulous restaurants and bars which are exceptionally clean and well looked after. We hired a car and visited Cape Greco, Protaras and Fig Tree Bay. We were only there for one week but it wasn't long enough to go everywhere and see everything so we have promised ourselves we'll go back again for two weeks instead of one and hopefully it'll not be another 20 years before we do.

The temperature was in the 90's which was wonderful, a pity though that after complaining 3 times they couldn't mend the a.c. in our room!

Best Holiday at The Napa Plaza, Ayia Napa
The Napa Plaza is an excellent hotel, it looks lovely as you walk in, the rooms are excellent and the pool is beautiful. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a perfect location. The hotel is surrounded by lovely restaurants, we went for food somewhere different every night for 2 weeks! The bus stop is also right by the hotel so you can get to different towns easily and reception gave us a bus timetable.

Summer Breakaway With Friends
The Napa Plaza was an excellent place to stay and the staff were helpful. It's in an excellent central location with all the bars, pubs, clubs, shops and restaraunts catering for all tastes right on your doorstep. My main concern was the quality of the room and its position within the horel. The room faced towards the main square so noise was a problem until around 2am. The room was clean and functional but that was it. The hotel rooms have been upgraded elsewhere within the hotel; maybe we were just unlucky. Another thing that irked me was that no one explained the poolside towel card system or handed one over on arrival. It wasn't apparent at the poolside either as other guests seemed to be using their own towels. We only realised you could exchange daily for a poolside towel with 2 days to go; trivial for some but we found it annoying. I used to live in Cyprus and since leaving this was my 3rd holiday back there. Sadly the Cypriots have gotten a little greedy and consequently Ayia Napa has become an expensive place to holiday. The current £/Euro exchange rate doesn't help either.

Great holiday in Ayia Napa
We went to Ayia Napa on a girl's holiday. Being slightly older than the average clubber there in height of season (all aged around 30) we were pleased to stay at the Napa Plaza. It had the quiteness and comforts of a non 18-30's hotel and the age group was good (average 25+). The food and drink, although a little expensive, was of really good quality. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely pool area and no kids allowed which was great for us. Location was fantastic literally a 5 minute walk to Ayia Napa Square. Lots of lovely bars and restaurants nearby if you are not interested in the neon lit strip. Hotel decor modern and clean - only issue was the church next door to our room - the bells were continuous some mornings and there was only one section of rooms that couldn't hear it which were at the front by reception. However if you're up quite early anyway it wouldn't bother you too much - just don't expect much of a lay in! Maids come very early but if you're still in the room/sleeping/have your do not disturb sign on they will come back throughout the day to ensure your room is cleaned and fresh towels given. Excellent location, lovely hotel, would absolutely go back again.

Turned out OK in the end
My husband and I are in our 70's and have beento Ayia Napa twice a year for about twenty years, going to a hotel which is now all inclusive, we like bed and breakfast. On arrival at the hotel at approx 23.30, the driver dropped us off up the road from the hotel, so we had to ask people in one of the outside clubs where the entrance was. We were shown to room number 1, the noise was herendous. We waited for the porter to bring our cases up to us when he said we were to go to room 15, this was even worse! We had to spend a sleepless night there. In the morning we had to spend more money on an upgrade but it was well worth it. Having said all this the rest of our stay was lovely. The staff are exceptional, nothing is too much trouble, the breakfasts are great.
