stunning views and beautiful gardens
Just returned from 2 glorious weeks in Cyprus. having been going here for the past 6 years we knew we wouldn't be disappointed and we weren't. We stayed at the Alion Hotel after reading lots of excellent reviews and I have to say I agree with almost all of them. The hotel is in a superb setting, has lovely sea views and the gardens are beautiful, close to the beach a bonus. The warm and friendly welcome upon arrival is that extra special personal touch. The hotel itself is lovely and clean although our room was a little dated and not sure if it was one that hasn't yet received it's refurbishment but if it has then I don't think it is up to the 5* standard. The little extra touches in the rooms, such as champagne, fruit, bathrobes, slippers and turning down of the beds every night and the chocolate on the side are great. The ice cold towels during the heat of the day are a god send. Personally I don't feel this hotel is 5* and have stayed in better 3/4* hotels in cyprus, although saying that it wouldn't stop me returning to the hotel. I just feel it needs a little more TLC and take note from some other hotels close to it with regard to certain things such as free wi fi throughout the hotel rather than just the pool and lobby and not charge for it in the rooms, it needs to offer a fridge service and also look at adding more items to the complimentary tea/coffee tray, these are minor things but things I would expect from a 5* establishment. When you are paying that amount of money you expect pure luxury and equal service that other nationalities get, but I just feel that it is lacking that at present. Sort these niggles out and it will be a perfect hotel. saying this I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Another fantastic AyaiNapa holiday at The Allion
It's just like coming home when you arrive at he Alion, The hotel and it's Manager and Staff really make you feel welcome when you arrive. Where else is there sandwiches and crisps and sparkling wine left in your room free of charge when you check in? In an age of cutbacks it is really refreshing to see The Alion is still capable of giving great value for money. Due to us being a regular visitor we were even treat to lunch on our second day by Michael The Manager, what a gent. It was good to see so many of the same staff always there to care for your needs. It is the only hotel we would stay in in Ayai Napa due to the consistency of the staff, hotel and it's private sunbathing area. Everyone should at some point treat them selves to staying at The Alion

Needed a good break...got one
Holiday was excellent, the hotel was first class with the facility to book your sunbed for the week ( hotel take note....would be good idea to photo copy plan of sunbeds rather than write down numbers that are vacant). The hotel staff were very friendly and the manager invites you to a greeting supplying drinks and canapes which just makes you feel very welcome... nice touch. The hotel is situated about 5 mins walk to bars and restaurants and 10 - 15 to the main part of resort. You have a choice to walk down towards the harbour and take your pick from all sorts of restaurants and bars or if you are interested you can turn and walk up to the area that comes alive at night !. The Thomas Cook rep told us at the introductory meeting that all hotel facilities were free apart from the massage, manicures etc, however with jacuzzi , steam room and sauna you need to book first. We booked the jacuzzi and when finished it cost me 12 euros !, just wish the rep had admitted the mistake rather than say she was not sure she said that. Anyway we asked her for the location of bus stop to take us on ring road tour, she told us to stand opposite the flamingo hotel....could not find a hotel beginning with F never mind Flamingo. A local pub owner said he had never heard of a hotel of that name, if fact he told us we were at the bus stop !!. Anyway that was minor things during a great break. If you want a holiday with relaxation and comfort along with the option to walk into a resort with choices then Ayia Napa & the Alion hotel is a must in May.
