We had a wonderful holiday in Cuba in May. We spent in Tryp hotel (Cayo Coco) two weeks, and I can say everything was fantastic. The hotel has very good facilities,
incredibly nice staff. I've never met people like them. They vere friendly, helpful, funny. These few lines are not enough to tell everything about our holiday, but the thousands of pictures could tell everything!!!
I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Thomas Cook for this brilliant time! We'll never forget!
See you next time!

The hotel is very scruffy and in need of refurbishment, in fact refurbishment is going on around the complex with little regard to H&S. This is the second time we ha
ve stayed at Tryp, unfortunately not through choice. We had booked to go to Hotel Melia in Cayo Guillermo but we were advised the day before we flew that things had changed and we had no choice but to go back to Tryp again, much to our dissatisfaction.
Cuba is a lovely island and the Cuban people are really nice.
The service in the hotel is poor and the accommodation very scruffy, food is good, beach is stunning and entertainment good. Unfortunately this is not a place I want to go back to, even if Thomas cook give us no choice again, which raises question.

Don't go to Cuba without visiting Havanna! We have just returned from a memorable two centre holiday in Havanna and Cayo Cocoa and absolutely loved it. On first impr
ession the hotel Tryp was 'too big' but after returning from an amazing 3 nights in Havanna staying at the wonderful Melia Cohiba the complex grew on us. (However, 4 nights rather than 3 would have been better). The main pool area at the Tryp is big and noisy but the optional small pool is much quieter. Likewise the self service is big and busy but the optional dining at the many other smaller restaurants set in beautiful gardens - but be sure to book early! All the staff were courteous and friendly and gave us a very touching farewell. The half day walking trip in Havanna and full day trip called "Now that's what I call Cuba" in Cayo were excellent - I would strongly recommend to anyone.

My trip began on my 30th birthday. Having booked it online and spoken to an online representative I was excited and thought that, as it was a milestone birthday, I m
ay get something extra thrown in on the day of travel. When I checked in I drew attention to the fact it was my birthday to which the check-in operator replied "that's nice." Once on the plane with the drinks/snacks trolley coming round again I mentioned it was my birthday. As it was a chartered flight we had to pay for all drinks and snacks. I again mentioned it was my brithday to which I got a patronising smile. Thomas Cook couldn't even offer 1 free celebratory drink?!? At the actual resort I received nothing, no actual recognition it was my birthday - NADA! To say I was unimpressed is an understatement. The actual holiday was ok, the weather was a little hit or miss but then you can't predict the weather. My main reason for calling the holiday average is how badly the staff treated you if you didn't constantly tip them - whatever happened to the concept of tipping when having received good customer service?!? Not actually tipping to then receive the good customer service. I also find Thomas Cook to be quite stingy and their staff on both flights were exceptionally rude. I had never before gone on an all-inclusive resort and now know for sure it is definitely not for an independent traveller like myself.

We travelled in a group of 6 and being a rang eof different ages we were all looking for our own type of thing from the holiday, we were not disapointed!
The beach w
as lovely for relaxing and looking for shells, the busy pool was great for the younger ones with games and pool bar and there was a quiet pool to relax after a night at the disco!
Overall entertainment catered for everybody and the staff were extremely friendly.
The food was tasty but as you would expect after a couple of weeks you get a bit tired of it but this is no reflection on the food just missing home comforts.

Without doubt this was our best holiday ever! We are three adults in our fifties with three kids, age 15, 16 and 17 and all of us have travelled extensively througho
ut the world. Tryp Cayo Coco is a perfect holiday venue for people of all ages. We felt at home as soon as we arrived and knew that the holiday would be one to remember. The staff were excellent - very friendly, courteous and extremely attentive (without exception). The food was first class, with plenty of choice even for the fussiest of people. The restaurants were very nice, well laid out and it was a pleasure to dine at all of them. The bars were good and the bar staff were most entertaining and extremely pleasant.
The grounds of the hotel were just beautiful and the gardeners, who worked very hard to keep them that way, were so happy and friendly. The rooms were fine, very clean and comfortable and perhaps in need of a wee face lift but they were more than adequate,
The entertainment team were very good and again, so very friendly - they gave us a lovely send off at the end of the holiday! The younger people in our group enjoyed the night club and the beach parties every night.
Both pools were just perfect, we spent most of our time at the main pool and enjoyed the swim-up bar!!
The beach was absolutely stunning, the water so clear and warm and the sand was like soft palest brown sugar.
I've never written a holiday review before but this holiday most certainly deserves a first class review. Tryp Cayo Coco will be the choice for us for next year again (another first for us, we don't repeat holidays) and we hope to entice more of our family to join us! This hotel is an excellent choice if you're looking for a relaxing holiday, an enteratinment filled holiday, friendly and efficient staff, good food, nice accommodation and beautiful surroundings. What more could anyone ask for!!

This hotel is ideal for those wanting a relaxing holiday and not wanting to do much else off the complex. Positioned on the gorgeous white sands on Cayo Coco with cr
ystal clear water, its a beach lovers holiday. The only draw back was the pond/floodwater under the hotel lobby as this smelled time to time and seemed to me that it attracted mosquitos, although the hotel did spray repellant once a week. The only other thing i found to be annoying which is typically annoying to the english is the constant tipping of everyone from the bar staff to the gardeners, as you'd assume going on an all inclusive it was 'all included' and not having to carry money around with you.
Theres nothing really to do out of the hotel, but Thomas Cook do offer various trips which i thought were quite expensive and guests do have the use of the other Sol hotel which is a 20min walk along the beach. There is a reef not far from the hotel where we went snorkeling via a ride on the glass bottom boat (20 peso each).
The room was clean and the air con was on constant due to the sunny glorious weather, also a fridge and free safety box in the room.
As with most all inclusive resorts the cups were very small, so asking for two at a time is a must, or even taking a large cup of your own, there were quite a number of young Canadians that had their own. Restaurants were a nice change from the buffet reastaurant, but this was also nice with many food stations preparing food as you want it.
All in all it was a nice relaxing holiday and would definately go back, there was a couple on their 15th trip to the hotel as we were checking in. Very nice grounds / gardens around the hotel - the Flamingo lagoon was a very nice touch.

Just returned from 7 nights all inclusive holiday to hotel Tryp. Hotel great, beach first class, white sands and clear blue ocean. Rooms were basic but comfortable a
nd clean, beds made every day and fresh water daily. Free air-con and safe. Buffet was very good quality and variety, changed daily. Restaurants (book as soon as get there as book up very quickly) were not brilliant but Italian best. Good range of trips, recommend day trip on Catamaran and half day trip to Moran. Careful of sun as quite breezy on beach and doesn't feel like getting burnt, gets bit chilly in evenings due to breeze.

It was only a short coach journey from the airport to the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel , we were welcomed with dancers and cocktails, all luggage were transpo
rted and delivered by friendly staff. Unfortunately the first room we were given was mouldy and dirty, however they did give us a lovely room with a beautiful sea view, after we mentioned our dissatisfaction about the first room. The facilities were great, there were 24 hour drink and food available, as well as a food hall, three a la carte restaurants, a beach bar/ restaurant and a pizza place on the beach which were all included in the price. The weather was between 28-32 degrees, and the beaches were kept clean at all times. The entertainment kept us busy at times, unfortunately id did get a bit repetitive. There was always a good choice of food. The pool bar was situated in the middle of the swimming pool, that is where a lot of our time was spent. Rooms were kept clean. The staff were amazing too. Everything was great I loved it, in fact I will be returning to Cuba in September. I cant wait

The start of the holiday was not the best. This was due to the fact that our flight was delayed by 8 hours from Gatwick! When we finally arrived at the hotel in Cayo
coco it was very late, we walked across the hotel to our room and on the way we were greeted by a very drunk English couple having a huge row. Once we arrived in our room, it was slightly damp, and I was already slightly traumatised by the terrible behaviour of the couple we had just passed. So at the start we thought we were in for a very long 2 weeks. We got up the next day and looked around the hotel, things started to look up. The beach was AMAZING; the water was so clear and calm. There was not a wave in sight and just round a corner from our room there was a pool of water with beautiful flamingos living there! It was fantastic. The weather was great, bright sunshine with a slight breeze, absolutely breathe taking. This carried on for the next 2 weeks, and me and my boyfriend had the most amazing time together, I couldn’t have asked for a better place to be. Half way thought the 2 weeks we went to speak to our rep who was fantastic, he was extremely helpful; we decided to take the trip to Havana over night. This is really worth the money, as you have a tour for the whole 2 days and you can also go to the Tropicana show, which is one of the best things I have ever done, really was exciting. If anyone is thinking of going to Cuba I would recommend this hotel and going on the Havana overnight stay. We will always remember our first holiday together in Cuba.
