Brilliant flights and also stay in Playa Costa Verde
After a disasterous flight 6 years ago with Thomas Cook we said that we would never use them again. We had no choice this year because of First Choice pulling out but we were so glad we did. It was the best flights we have ever had.The outward flight staff were brilliant and they all had such a sence of humour. We had paid premium and the seats were much better the FC. On the way back we were delayed by 1.30 hrs due to a pair of inconsiderate passengers who the Captain described as having too much amber nectar and having been taken off the plan and there luggage removed but managed to catch up by an hour. Staff were once again brilliant and must have been extra tired but coped well. Many many thanks to all those concered. Now to the actual holiday. We were there for the fifth time and everybody wanders why. It is a great place to go and we meet up with all our friend, staff not other passengers, and it is just like a giant family holiday. They always remember you and even how you like your drinks it amazes us. There has been some changes this year with the new genaral manager. How they could improve was beyond us. It has always been such a bright sparkling friendly comfortable place but we noticed some alterations. They have now got plenty of recycling bins not only around the hotel but on the beach. Nearly everywhere was having a fresh lick of paint. We do not know how they can do any more because it is just perfect.Cant wait to go back next year or before if we win the lottery. We cant recommend the PLAYA COSTA VERDE enough.

Fantastic holiday for couples
On arrival at the hotel we received a warm welcome by reception and a fruit cocktail was delivered by the waiter. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was any trouble. There was plenty of staff throughout the hotel who maintained the hotel and gardens constantly throughout the day and night, all with a smile. The beach was a short stroll away, paradise! Refreshments and snacks were available. The water activities were a fantastic alternative to sunbathing and free! I could never understand why people returned to the same hotel year after year but it would appear I will have to join them!

Fabulous holiday in Cuba
I took my two teenagers to Cuba for their first time during the Easter break. We had a super time. The weather on the whole was wonderful a few days of rain, a couple of evenings of thunderstorms with lightening which involved an impromptu picnic at the 24 hour Snack Bar.
The staff here are the most welcoming I have ever come across. They want you to have a great holiday and more importantly to come back again. They remember returning guests which I am amazed at for example the lady, Maria, that makes my omelette in the morning, last time I was here was 18 months ago to the bar and waitresses and waiters. I would only ask that guests are polite to them as they try very hard to please you.
The hotel, although small compared to the neighbouring two are kept impeccably clean and tidy, the grounds folk work very hard keeping everything perfect.
The beach is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the lovely sea and inner reefs where you can snorkel and see some really fascinating sea life. Thank you to the staff at the beach for everything you did for us, clean beds, great snack food and drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
The A La Carte restaurants were a nice change from the Buffet, with the entertainment in the Japanese one that kids will remember forever.
The hotel offers, at a small costs, massages and I can personally recommend them they were wonderful.
This is generally a great holiday for all ages where you can get involved in the hotel activities or sit back and enjoy the peace. I can't wait to get back again for some more R&R.

excellent holiday in the sun and reasonably priced
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at PLAYA COSTA VERDE. The staff were faultless and the beach was easily accessible from the complex. We will recommend the holiday to family and friends.

Fantastic holiday at Playa Costa Verde
We have come back from the PCV at the beginning of April and had a fantastic holiday. From the moment we arrived at the hotel there was always someone there to help you. When we left a member of staff was there to wave us off, (a nice touch!). The staff couldn't do enough for you.
The grounds of the hotel are very well kept up and looked after. The pool, pool areas and beach are very clean. Our rooms are perfectly adequate and supplied with a very large & comfortable bed, free safe, plenty of wardrobe space, iron, ironing board, cd/radio player, coffee/tea maker, telephone, bidet, hairdryer, shower in bath. The rooms themselves were a little tired, but VERY clean & that's what is important to me!. My towels were changed daily, the sheets only 3/4 times in the 14 nights I was there and a free litre bottle of water was left in the room every day. Beach towels were available FOC for changing on a daily basis either at the pool area or by bridge to beach.
The food was excellent, with a Japanese, a Italian, a a la cart, 24 hour snack bar, a supplementary restaurant costing about 10pesos per person (about £6)and main restaurant. This is not including the snack bar (which served mainly hotdogs & beef burgers and fruit# and the lovely ice-cream parlour.
There is a small shop in the main reception area and half a dozen market stalls on the complex grounds which sells souvenirs and handicrafts.
There is a bank in the reception area which was open 7 days a week for changing up money and I think as good as any rate anywhere else.
On the beach, we found we had to go fairly early to make sure you had a parasol which is a must in the mid 30s temperatures we had for the fortnight. Remember to pack some shoes for the water as there are some rocky parts in the water and makes life a lot easier. The sea was crystal clear and full of beautiful fish, and other harmless sea creatures. I saw a turtle and a tiger eels just inches away from me and we took food in the sea and fed the fish! Another thing to pack is a plastic thermos cup with lid. The larger the better! Most people #probably 70%# around the pool and beach use them and apart from being very eco friendly, it beats having your drink served in a small flimsy plastic cup. Definitely worth taking!!
Entertainment was pretty good - the entertainment staff in the daytime were very enthusiastic and there was always good evening shows and entertainment. Loved the synchronised swimming shows!
I have a very big thank you for Vivianne and her lovely colleague, which I'm embarrassed, I've forgotten her name. They were able to sort out a very special birthday surprise for my father and helped make his birthday the best birthday he had in his life! Thank you Vivianne and all your team!! You are all brilliant and did more that you needed to!!
There are regular modes of transport outside of the hotel to local villages, and a local flea market which was a largish market that sold souvenir's and handicrafts and had a beautiful beach for you to take a dip when you finished. We took a horse and cart ride to the local village. There is a open sided road train and open top bus which we took to take us to the flea market.
We also hired a taxi by the day and found not only it better, but cheaper as there were 3 of us. There are always taxis outside the hotel, but we asked behind reception for someone that "spoke very good English" & had an old & air conditioned car. Some drivers speak a little English, but its worth finding someone who's English is good, who you can spend a whole day with and be able to chat with and learn a lot from. Our taxi driver was called Luis and he drove a burgundy Chevy 55. We had a brilliant few days with him.
On the whole, the holiday was FANTASTIC. Cuba is like stepping back in time. The roads outside of the towns and villages have few cars on, but plenty of oxen & carts, horse & carts, cyclist, pedestrians. Chickens, goats, horses graze around the road curbs. I felt very safe out and about and found all the Cubans wore enormous smiles on their faces.
We never made it to Havana as Thomas Cook advising not to use the planes, and instead of an 1.5hr flight, it took 12 hours on a bus. Did get to Santiago, Sami Village, Indian Village, Hoguin, Gabari, Guardalavaca to mention a few place as well as swimming with a dolphin. Happy to help if you have any questions.
If you go - you will love this hotel and Cuba - its unique and amazing! #just remember the beach shoes and thermos cups!#

No complaints... great value!!!
We asked for a quiet room and it couldnt have been better located in Block 6. Near to the restaurant, bar and pool yet really quiet. This hotel has doubled in size without doubling the eating and drinking facilities meaning that its better to eat early. Beach was a bit crowded but it was Easter holidays so understandable. Staff really great - all of them.... totally excellent. Security was really good so it is wonderfully safe whilst not in your face... Beach wonderful and the water sports guys very helpful to our son who enjoyed endless amount of wind sailing - no extra charge. There are some sharp stones in the water so you need to take a small path clear of stones near the beach bar which leads to a wonderful sandy area. There are some fish worth snorkelling for. The snokels are on free loan at the the house next to the beach bar. There is a small village across the bay which is worth a visit.
We took a Jeep safari. The guide was supposed to speak English but.... he didnt but even so we had a really interesting day up in the mountains and rain forest. Recommended 100%.
We thought the entertainment was very interesting... Better than we saw in Egypt. Brilliant singers and performers...
We think this is the best value holiday we have ever had. Go... you wont get better value!!!!.
