We spent 2 weeks at the Oasis Dunas Aparthote in Augustl. The accomodation itself was pretty standard, a bit dated and not particularly comfortable. Beware as there
are hidden costs if you want to use the safe, hire an extra fan (one is provided) or watch the TV.
The pool area was lovely with pools of varying depths, so something for all ages and there was usually a sunbed or 2 to be found.Other sports facilities included a football pitch, basketball court and volleyball court. The Airtours Entertainment team were excellent, our kids particularly enjoyed the mini disco each evening Our holiday included entry into the Baku waterpark which is just across the road. The waterpark was excellent and, for us with 2 active sons, really made the holiday.
We were half board and found the standard of food varied from day to day but overall was pretty average. Our youngest son is quite a fussy eater and struggled to find anything he liked. If we were to go back we would choose the self-catering option as there were plenty of supermarkets nearby with a good selection of food, and many reasonably priced restaurants.
Corraljo is a fantastic family resort with a good selction of bars, restaurants, shops, supermarkets and a lovely sandy beach.

We went in August 2011
Accommodation - clean (if a little tired), cleaned and bedding changed every other day. We were lucky as our apartment was on the outside rin
g and so we couldnt hear the late night entertainment. Would recommend a safety deposit box as it was clear our door had been repaired at some point before we got there
Pool - Excellent - salty but kept clean and there were always sunbeds
Water Park - opposite and we had free entry with our package whcih saved a bit of cash - bonus!
Beaches - are fabulous - sea is clear and the beaches sandy and long - definately recommend taking a bus to the dunes beaches only 1euro 20 each way
Food - We went half board - breakfasts were great - evening meal a bit repetative - but the food was simple and great for the kids. We also ate out a couple of nights which helped
Entertainment - the kids loved it - all great staff
Overall it is a 3* resort and you get what you pay for - but we thought the Oasis Dunas was value for money

As a man with a young family i would highly recommend the oasis dunas and thomas cook to anybody. The entertainment crew kim and gang did a wonderful job of entertain
ing us all every day and evening. The kids club was an absolute god send only for jelly belly jenny and anne apple as the kids called them we would have been stuck with ideas to keep them busy every day. Even 3 nights a week they would take our youngest and the rest of the gang for a few hours so as parents we would have a little time to sit and have a bit of dinner without the hussle and bussle of trying to get the kids all sorted and then sitting down to your own dinner to discover its cold i thank them for those nights of peace and tranquility. Anyway all i can say is thank you for the wonderfull 2 weeks we had and the thomas cook staff especially the kids club for looking after our needs and keeping the kids enterained and promise to use thomas cook again on future holidays.

I was recently staying in the Oasis Dunas in Fuerteventura and wanted to make a special mention to 2 reps of Thomas Cook.
Glen and Tony, their antics around the poo
l side had myself and my family rolled up with laughter and same with their announcements on stages, they were funny, energetic and a credit we feel to the company.

We got back from carralejo just over a week ago after a 2 week half board holiday at oasis dunas. We absolutely loved it!! We have a 6year old so we wanted it to be
family focussed and it was!! Please please please please dont take the bad reviews too seriously. The hotel wasnt perfect but it was definately good enough for what we needed. The rooms were fine for what we wanted. There is alot of mention about cockroaches but we only saw one the whole holiday and my partner glued it to the floor with bug spray!! lol. That was the one time we fogot to put the plug back in the bath (dont forget to do it!!) Had a kitchen with microwave, hob, kettle and toaster, pans, plates etc. I definately would recommend you go at least half board though. My daughter went to kids club quite alot and she absolutely loved it. The kids team are fantastic. The only negative thing i would say is the parties are quite expensive. Some were 15euro so if your thinking of going it would be best to block book as you get a discount. They were there from 11am til 8pm so plenty of opportunities to have some peace and send them off.Im a very fussy eater but the food was ok. Some days there wasnt alot of choice but you dont starve. There were little signs saying what the food was but sometimes they werent facing you ir were in the wrong place. But you find something. Breakfast has alot more choice.
We made sandwiches for lunch most days in our room. I would recommend you get your own alchol and drinks for the evening in the hotel because the drinks can be quite expensive.
The night enetertainment was a good laugh most nights and theres bingo and play your cards right every night which i enjoyed. The team were brilliant and we had great fun.
The hotel is in a great location as its right opposite the waterpark which is well worth a visit. You dont have to hire rings though (they are 5 euro and 5 euro deposit) cos they are quite expensive. There are green rings available at the end of the slides that everyone can use. We went 3 times and our daughter loved it. always found a lounger. The town itself is brilliant. bars and shops only a 5minute walk away and plenty fir the kids with mini golf and trampolines. I really really really recommend you try "little italy"!!! its a fantastic restaurant, the food is great and not too expensive and they are lovely people. we went twice!! Well worth a visit. We went to the oasis park zoo which is quite a long journey but worth the trip when your there. for an extra 8 eurios each (for adults) you can go on a camel ride for 35mins up a mountain and its worth a go. Also make sure you watch the reptile and sea lion show!!! The one trip i wouldnt recommend is the pal trip. was meant to be a 45min presentation and a day out but we had a long journey there, sat there for well over an hour and only got 2hours to explore. We all had a great time and would definately recommend this holiday.

Having visited Correlejo some 5 years ago we looked forward to returning as the resort is full of things to do, very relaxed and casual. The resort itself maintained
its attraction and lived up to our memories of the place and despite the weather, the hotel and the food we had a lovely totally relaxing holiday.
Unfortunately we had booked into the Oasis Dunas. Last time we visited this hotel was being upgraded so we thought it was a sure bet. We couldn't have been more wrong. From our arrival when the receptionists were more interested in talking to each other than booking us in, to the rooms that although had just been cleaned still bore the traces of the previous occupants.( the couch in the living room had filthy covers) it didn't leave a good impression.
The apartment itself needed a substantial upgrade, towel rails kept falling off, the kitchen utensils were rusty and cooking facilities were poor for a self catering apartment being very minimal. Towels were threadbare and the patio furniture hadn't been cleaned in weeks.
I would say it was lucky we had booked half board but the food was disgusting. Every meal was cold (luckily we found a microwave), the choice was very poor, plates were cold, bread was stale (even first thing in the morning), glasses ran out as did cutlery. As an example fried eggs took at least 5 minutes to cook, did I say cook? they were running off the plate even at this point!!
Every morning the bacon was overcooked and greasy and just cold. At each meal you could just see from the faces of the people staying in the hotel that their opinion of the food was the same. It was hard to get drinks as staff seemed to only want to serve the good tippers - as we only tip for good service not to get good service that clearly didn't include us.
On the upside the pol area was well kept and clean with plenty of sunbeds and lots of open space if you wanted quiet. The entertainment staff worked really hard in trying to get everyone involved an provided an good range of activities each day.
We would certainly go back to Corralejo but would only go back to the Oasis Dunas on a self catering basis and then only if the apartments were given an upgrade
We had to eat out a lot during our stay as the quality of the food was so poor and found some graet places. Try the Slow Boat 2 if you like Chinese meals The buffet is extraordinary and well worth a visit and for Italian food the Di Napoli serves the finest pizzas we have tasted outside Rome. Finigans Irish Bar is well worth a visit or two especially for Micks quiz nights on a Monday and Friday and for live music you can't beat Imagine.
Don't let this review put you off Corralejo as its a lovely place to stay but find some alternative accommodation to the Oasis Dunas is our recommendation.

Was really happy with hotel and resort and enjoyed it so much we have booked for august
Date of review:1 Feb 2011
I took my daughter and 3 year old grandaughter for 10 days in the sun. I chose cheap self catering in a resort I had visited almost 20 years before with my own child
ren.
The accommodation was fine, a twin bedded room (hard mattresses) and living room with a bed settee(.( bit run down and grubby) . I found the kitchen ette too small and under equipped with an ancient fridge. - but it was adequate.
The cleaning of the apartment was not as good as other places I've stayed.
The kids paddling pool was great, as were the play areas and we used the beach volley ball area as out own private beach when we weren't at the real beach.
Its a fair walk to the beach but we loved it, white sand gentle waves and rock pools with nearby cafes for lunch/dinner.
Shopping was OK. Onsite shop for water and essentials. Big supermarket very close by.
Lots of friendly guests and staff, friendly adults and children on the beach. Didn't find any fantastic food places but did locate a decent cocktail.or two

the resort was really good, there were loads of bars and restaurants right by the sea, all fairly priced. The pool was freezing as it wasnt heated so we didnt use it
, but there are plenty of sunbeds for sun bathing. the beach wasnt particularly beautiful, it was a bit rocky and small but the facilities were good. the apartment was cleaned every other day with the towels and bedding changed 3 times in a week. the onsite bar was good but the entertainment wasnt, the only entertainment being for children, but other bars were within walking distance. Mcarthys irish was was really good with live music most nights.
the only negative parts were that the reception staff were rude and unhelpful. The weather was windy and cold most of the time, even for february, but i think we just chose a bad week. And finally, although there was a lot of variety with the food and the breakfast was fine with a particularly broad choice, the evening meal was terrible. i wouldnt pay for it in a restaurant. the food was generally overcooked because food was reheated and served again if it wasnt used each night.
i would reccomend feurteventura as the place is lovely, if i were to go again i would either stay somewhere with better food i.e. 4 star, or just go on a bed and breakfast basis. Overall not bad for a 3 star.

The holiday overall was quite good.
In the early hours of the first morning we had an intruder in the appartment,(if on the ground floor, check your windows are lock
ed, we didn't) I asked to be moved and we were without any hassle.
It was the quiet, relaxing holiday we were looking for. Weather was fantastic

An escape from the january ccccold...for our anniversary we usually go to super hot southeast asia for a month but this year, new job meant only a week off, so we pi
cked canaries as the warmest place, a few hours flight from brum and under £200.
We travel hand-baggage only so scooted past the crowd out to the airport bus-stop. Within 10 mins we were on an aircon local bus to the main town, hopped on the next bus out to the resort hotels (E5 each) and arrived at Oasis Dunas an hour before the 'transfer'. We asked for an upstairs apartment with a balcony porque no romantica con los ninos el bajo! and were given a lovely one with no neighbours and treetop views - think my smidge of spanish helped us there! Shower was fab.
We self catered with fresh bread from the supermarket round the corner and spent most of our evenings in drinking a variety of surprisingly good 88cent wines. Had a v romantic, warm and peaceful week. I imagine in school hols its a very different place but we had the pool to ourselves most days (cold, saltwater, very clean) and when we walked along the sea and out to the volcano hardly saw another soul! So easy to book we would def use thomas cook again if we need a last minute escape!

Check in at LGW good. Flights good. Hotel very dated. Needed a good clean and a lick of paint. Staff not very friendly or helpful. Problem with room safe on three co
nsecutive days and telephone in room not working. Breakfast ok. Evening meal absolutely awful. Ate out after two nights which totally defeats the object of being half board. Pool area lovely though the water was freezing (colder than the Atlantic Sea) so we never went in. Check in on return worst I've ever experienced. Queued for 1 hour 45 mins. Just got through security when our flight was called for boarding. Maybe take a leaf out of First Choice's book and take guests to airport at intervals rather than altogether. Would hate to travel in the height of the season! Island and resort lovely. Would never go back to the Oasis Dunas. Weather was fantastic!

Have been to this hotel on numerous occasions and found it ok.This time they seem to be making cutbacks particularly in the restaurant. We were booked in for half bo
ard and found the food was poor sometimes cold and very little choice. In fact we spent more money and ate out a couple of times. The personal service was poor there was not enough staff to cover the amount of diners, tables were not cleared quick enough and we were always looking round for cutlery. In the end we had to find the cutlery ourselves. and lay our own tables. We were never asked once if we would like a drink with our meal. The rooms were a bit dirty could have done with a lick of paint to cover up the dead mosquitos on the walls. The only good thing to report was the pool and surrounding area which was well maintained. Anyone booking up half board or all inclusive I would not recommend this hotel.

We (the wife, daughters 17,13 and son 11 and I) always say expect the worse then you won't be too disappointed. The room was very tired in the way of furnishing and
decor and poorly laid out (the windowless toilet/bathroom opened directly onto a very small cooking area which consisted only of 2 cooking rings). We had trouble on the second from last day with brown water from all taps in our room and the reception lady told me 'it wont hurt you', but once I said that i wanted it seen to they sent a maintanence man who promptly set about changing the boiler and when we got back that night there was a new boiler and the water was clear so how can you complain about that. The cleaning regime though was not as good as anywhere else I have been in the Canaries or Europe. The pool was a lovely setting but my daughter lost her earring and I had a look underwater and due to the high salt and chlorine content in pain had to rush back to my room and rinse my eyes and had 'fogged' vision for 12 hours. So please make sure you wear goggles or avoid swimming under water without them. The hotel staff were very friendly and the Reps were brilliant. They would tour the pool and hotel area and offer everyone the chance to participate in whatever event they had going on and once you said no they would just wish you a nice day by the pool and leave you alone, none of that pushy 'come on, come on' stuff, so well done to your team, and the evening entertainment was great family friendly holiday fun. The hotel location is perfect for being close to everything, but also being away from the noise, so 10 out of 10 for that, and as close to the waterpark as you could wish. In conclusion I would say that this hotel is at the very bottom of the 3 star range, but at the end of the day it was a safe, well located roof over your head with a beautiful pool and bar area and I would say yes to anyone who asked me should they stay here.

The Entertainment team made this holiday. They worked really hard and were most friendly and fun. The shows were great fun and extremely entertaining.....super singi
ng and dancing! This TC team of four work well together and my boys loved every minute of their week. The Place needs some TLC with a lick of paint and some updating with the surroundings,,,,but it did not stop us having a great time. The waiters were friendly and love it if you try and speak Spanish. Some people moaned about trivial things and I do sometimes wonder why people go on holiday when they insist on moaning and trying to spoil evryone elses fun. It is a 3* and you get what you pay for. However, this entertainment team is more than that! Will try to go back in July.
