It was the end of the summer and we fancied another cheeky week away with Thomas Cook.
We found this holiday billed as a Water Park holiday and booked it.
5 days l
ater and we were away....
The flight and transfer was all standard stuff and went without a hitch.
The resort although very clean was also very quiet, which we found odd.
The water park adjoining was closing down bit by bit which was a bit strange and a worry as this was the main reason for booking and we had a very excited 8 year old..
The weather was a bit "Hit or a Miss" But at this time of year you just have to take your chances.
The free bus was curtailed some days and getting a taxi anywhere was costing us 20-25 Euros a pop.
The resort was kept very clean and staff were very friendly, so no problems there.
Now the bad bit.
I'm a picky eater but my wife and son will honestly eat anything, The choice was big but it was neither hot or of a decent standard. ( even the coffee came out of a vending machine) Both would leave the dinning hall very unhappy.
Yes it was a last minute cheeky week away but all in all we still spent in total a months wages on a so-so holiday.
This is our second late week away with Thomas Cook ( Not including our main summer holidays) but i fear it may be our last.
Somethings are always out of anybody's control but the basics should always be right.

Complete waste of money, the food is what is left over from the day before just with a few more herbs chucked in, kids were not allowed to have the strawberry flavor
ed ice cream that is on display in the freezer as they only allow 4 flavors to be open at one time!??? even though we were all inclusive and had already paid for it.The drinks were completly tasteless, just fizzy water really......WASPS EVERYWHERE!!!. Wave pool closes at 6pm.....even though its still boiling hot and not dark untill 10pm so all you can do is go into your room to wait for the leftovers that is what they call dinner to start. rooms very basic, although the cleaning lady we had was lovely, she was the only member of the resorts staff that seemed happy, everyone else who worked there seemed like they couldnt care less wether we were there or not, not welcoming atall.Had to wait 2 hrs for our room when we got there and was sent to a dissused toilet to get changed so kids could wait at the pool. The STENCH of DRAINS was just awfull, more so on the hotter days, could smell them all over the resort, could write so much more but reallt im just glad to be home, we got there on a monday and by wednesday eve both my kids....aged 14 and 11 wanted to come home!

we couldn't find any fault with the holiday to aqualand...apart from it went too quick!! The resort had everything a family would want from a holiday. We didn't leav
e the resort as there was so much to do on site. The added bonus was free entry to the waterpark. The wave pool was the highlight for the kids (4 and 6). The hotel food was lovely, lots of choices for everyone. The hotel has there own kids entertainment, the people who run that are so good with the kids. Thanks for a lovely time..see you next year.

The Aqualand Resort Hotel in Agios Ioannis is located a few minutes walk from Aqualand – the most amazing water park in Europe. Guests had free entry - the normal pr
ice is 25 Euro’s per person! It was definitely the largest water park I had ever seen, with lots for both the kids (and the big kids like myself) to entertain themselves for a day. My fiancé and I started off with the wave pool – the 3rd largest in the world – which was great fun. I went on all the slides but my fiancé and I particularly enjoyed Crazy River, Family Rafting and Deep Blue Kayak and best of all The Black Hole. By the end of the holiday, I had even plucked up enough courage to go on the 24m high free fall slide. It was exhilarating, but also quite scary. So perhaps not for the faint hearted!
The Animation Team worked extremely hard, especially Nico, although the evening entertainment ended around 11pm and the All Inclusive stopped at 12:30am, so if you wanted a party atmosphere, then this would not be the Hotel for you.
On one of the days there was a thunderstorm with heavy rain throughout the day so Aqualand was closed. Unfortunately as the hotel is situated some distance from any amenities, there was very little to do. My advice is take plenty of games and books to entertain yourselves on days like this, as unfortunately we were totally unprepared and had nothing to do and were very bored.
I’d advise you to make use of the Hotel‘s free bus to Corfu Town and Glyfada beach to see more of Corfu. The bus to Corfu Town left the Hotel at 10am and returned at 2.30pm which meant you missed lunch, though a packed lunch can be requested from Reception the previous day. Or when you return, snacks are available from 3pm. However if you want to sample the local cuisine, there are many cafes and restaurants, or even a McDonalds for those longing for a taste of home! Corfu Town is very pretty with lots of souvenir shops. It is very easy to get lost though, so make sure you get your bearings straight away.
Glyfada beach is really beautiful and great for children. Be warned though – the sand is extremely hot! The sea is very clear and perfect for swimming. There is also a variety of different water sports available. If you don’t have children and do not wish to sunbathe or participate in water sports, the five hours spent here may seem too long as there is little else to do. However there are snack bars on the beach front which make great places to relax and watch the world go by.
The meals were satisfactory, breakfast being the most enjoyable. The soups were very good but there was insufficient variety of other items at lunch and dinner so it did get quite boring over a fortnight. On the plus side though, there is a small shop in the Hotel, so you can stock up on any food items you may be craving.
Apart from the location Aqualand Resort has it all. Its good value for money and the Water Park is extremely enjoyable and fun for all the family!

I travelled with my husband and our 2 friends who have 2 children aged 2 & 10 years. On arrival our room was ready but our friends we not we had to wait 3 hours befo
re there room was ready but in the end the room they were allocated was above ours (room 1311) it was very spacious had a large settee a chair a kitchen with a full size fridge freezer and a microwave, two bedrooms upstairs for the kids....perfect. our room was adequate for us 2 with 2 twin beds and a bunk and also a fridge, both had hairdryers. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere we were there for a week which is enough as we felt we were trapped in a bubble. The hotel does do a coach daily to the beach and twice daily into Corfu town...one during the day and one in the evening which was great to get our of the hotel for a few hours. Outside the hotel there is nothing.... I mean nothing, so dont bothing walking anywhere you will be wasting your time. Now the food. It is the worst all inclusive holiday we have ever been on. The breakfast starts at 7.30am until 9.30am, very very basic food even for a three star. From 9.30am until 10.00 you cannot get anything to eat or drink until the pool bar opens at 10.00am then they take down to the pool bar fish fingers or chicken nuggetts and a tray of chips (for the kids who could not stomach the breakfast) not nearlly enough to last until 12.30 when lunch begins until 2.30. You have to go to the main restaurant for lunch as the pool bar does not do food during this time which means to have to dry off and get dressed to go into the restaurant. During the after noon the pool bar supplies dry bread wrapped in cling film with cheese and ham on and provides 2 small toasting machines for you to make you own toasted sandwiches, again when they have gone thats it until dinner at 6.30pm - 9.30pm after that there is no food available until breakfast, so if you have a flight which lands between 9.30pm and 7.30am tough !! The bar closes at 11.00 prompt after this you cannot get anything to drink until breakfast...not even soft drinks or coffee... unless you pay for it, so again night flights arrive and cannot get anything to drink until breakfast. Also, in the restaurant, when the time is up they take all the serving spoons out of the food so you cant even dash up and get some more if you want to.
Good points: the facilities are excellent. Lovely pool area and wave pool, access to the waterpark is great especially for the kids, the only thing there is that there is a gate leading direct from te hotel to the waterpark but you cannot use this until you have walked alll around the hotel and got a wrist band from the main entrance, which is pain when you have kids towels pushchairs etc. I cant see why they cant just let you through the gate direct from the hotel.
All in all we had a great time but would not go back due to the food and the location, I think after 2 weeks we would have gone mad!!

The sun was shinning when we arrived, there was nobody in the hotel pool, alarm bell rang the water was freezing . The wave pool was great fun. The weather wasnt goo
d but it was the beginning of May it was over cast and rained most the week thundery showers that last all day.
The kids got bored on the rainy day no entertainment for them not much to do. The aqua park was shut when the weather was bad. When it was open it was very good remember to take a old T-shirt with you and keep your arm tooked in when going down the big slides there were lots of people that burnt there arms and had marks down there backs nasty.
We took a trip to corfu town it was very nice to walk around the small streets a nice morning out. (Be warned the excursion are expensive)
At night the entertainment was the members of the staff mimicking. so have lots to drink its funny .
The food was ok if it was hot and cooked, my baked beans were cold and eggs werent cook yuk, it repeats too much if you, like speggti bol its on every day. there wasnt much on for the kids.
The food was improving by the end of the week so im hoping for your sake it was because it was the start of the season. The gym was good . The staff were great . have a great hol x

We arrived at aqualand resort on friday 28 May. Checking in was very easy and we were in our room within minutes of arriving. The rooms were just as featured in the
brochure and very clean. e headed down to the pool area and found 3 very nice swimming pools. There were plenty of sunbeds and shades for everyone. Poolside snacks were available, chips, ice cream, etc and drinks both hot and cold. The restuarant had a good selection of food for everyone although a little repetative at times. The entertainment team were very good and did very well throughout the day to try and get everybody involved. (There were some very sporting games of water polo played by the men!!!)The aqualand park was very good and the children thoroughly enjoyed it on the slides and many different pools. We went to glyfada beach for the afternoon which was very nice but the beach itself was rather untidy. There was very little to do in the evening apart from a show put on by the entertainment team which they did very well or everyone played cards in the main reception area. There were two computers for which you could buy time for to use the internet or free wi-fi for those using there own laptops. All in all we enjoyed our holiday and would definately go all inclusive again
