You just never know who to believe on these reviews do you?! Firstly I would like to say what a pleasurable experience it was staying at this hotel – for the main fo
llowing reasons:
Friendly staff
Variety and quality of VERY good food
Superb maid service, resulting in lovely clean rooms
Lovely location of hotel with stunning views
If you want lively – go to Magaluf – if you don't stay around the hotel! There were a couple of local shops providing everything you need plus a couple of local bars. Do try the beach bar for Happy Hour (from 5pm to 8pm!) or the bar just outside the main entrance to the hotel, again, lovely helpful cheerful staff.
The entertainment staff are very enthusiastic and work very hard to try and entertain a sometimes uninterested and unenthusiastic audience. You couldn't fault them!
The bay itself where the hotel is located is lovely. There are pedlos for hire and on the beach (11 Euros for an hour), you can also hire sun beds for 5 Euros a day each. The beach is mainly full of locals – oh and lots of people from the hotel who, as it has been pointed out SO many times before, cannot get an umbrella.
The walk into Magaluf takes approx 20 mins and is worth it just for the experience! Due to the recession and the glut of all inclusive hotels there are lots of empty restaurants which is a shame.
I do not need to go on instilling the virtues of the hotel. In a word would I recommend it – YES and would I go back – YES, definitely YES!

We booked our holiday last minute and chose the Sentido cala vinas due to its peaceful location and position overlooking the sea. The hotel was lovely, but the view
from the bedroom and balcony was stunning. We slept with curtain open and watched the sunrise, the cruise ships leaving Palma and the planes coming into Palma airport. So peaceful.
The hotel was only 10 minutes walk from Magaluf for shops, bars and restaurants and a 5 euro taxi ride home.
The entertainment was fairly standard and possibly not what some sould expect from a 4 star but the entertainment team tried hard and it was the last week of the season.
Food varied and plentiful. staff friendly and helpful, never had to que long for drinks at the bar.
A few more umbrellas around the pool would have been useful and may have stopped the towels on the loungers at the side of the few umbrellas by 8 o clock each morning even though there was no one on the loungers until after breakfast.
Will certainly go back again but would choose early or late season..

We booked this holiday as a last minute getaway and were pleasently surprised by the hotel We primarily booked this hotel because it was an adults only and despite p
revious reviews in which people compared it with an old folks home we found that there was a good mix of ages during our stay.We thought that it was not quiet a 4 star but more of a 3 star + The food was of a decent quality with plenty of options to choose from ,we had no problems in getting served with drinks and they too were of a decent quality The rooms were clean and comfortable and we were lucky enough to have one on the 10th floor which offered magnificent views of the bay Whilst the resort was quiet it was only a short walk to magaluf downbank but we chose to take a taxi back because of the hilly location which only cost about 4-5 euros we would definately return to this hotel

Me and my mum (age 29 and 66) loved our holiday at sentido cala vinas. I would recomend this holiday for ether older couples or groups, mother and daughters etc. The
location is fantastic, food was good, drinks good and over all had a great time. Ok so most of the people there are of retirement age as the hotel is used bye saga. We had fantastic weather and you get all day sun here, also its ideal that you can swim in the sea right from the hotel. Go snorkeling and swim in the sea here. Its great. Dont go here if you want to be loud and rowdy, book somewhere else maby in magaluf or palma nova. The entertainment stops at 11 so you get a good nights sleep. we just wanted to chill out, but there is things like darts, pool, tennis etc if you want to do them. There is also a boat trip from the hotel too. There is not much in the local area. Small beach and a few shops. However buses run regularly into magaluf, palma nova and palma city. (make sure you go to palma city to see the cathedral and the castle, lovely sight seeing). OK this is a 4 star spanish all inclusive, dont expect the ritz! You will get a nice room, and nice food and drink here and a good time in the sun. Thomas cook reps were very good. Make sure you go to the welcome meeting. Have a good time and make sure you swim in the lovely sea!

The Hotel is situated in a beautiful inlet with stunning views across the Med. Be sure to request a high level minimum 7th floor.
The food is good quality, but I tho
ught the choice was limited.
Only 15 minute walk into the centre of Magaluf for those who want to party or 5 Euros for a Taxi.
Overall excellent hotel, recommended.

We returned to the Sentido Cala Vinas this year for 2 weeks after being there about same time last year.
Again we had a wonderful relaxing holiday. The Entertainment
team was great catering for all ages which a lot of us took part in the games that meant you broke the ice with a lot of different nationality's which normally you would n't do.
The food was variable so you could try lots of things for myself being fussy there was only 1 meal in the 2 weeks where I had trouble in selecting a meal which I just op for salad which was not a problem.
I have nothing bad to say about this Hotel or holiday we had a mixed age group some of which were Saga & thought they were better off than some folk as they have their own little Lounge.
I endorse this holiday & would recommend it to mature people as you have to go into Magaluf for lively entertainment if you are 50 + this is a relaxing holiday where you don't need to leave the Hotel. Brilliant.

Good Hotel, good food and pleasant staff.
Fantastic sea views across the bay to Palma, ask for a high floor to get the best views.
Excellent sandy beack just 2 min w
alk from hotel with plenty of natural shade if required.
The BEST holiday rep ever, Rita was brilliant , nothing was too much trouble.
The Hotel must do something about the shortage of sun brollies around the pool area to stop people getting up at 6am and reserving beds and brollies!!!
Excellent show "Come Fly with me" MUST SEE!!

Very disappointed overall first time I've not been impressed when I've booked holiday via Thomas Cook!
- Vila Canas so called beach was a mere postage stamp - a chil
d's sandpit is bigger and it was to be shared by 5 other hotels/appartments in the cove. If you want to use sunlounger and umbrella you had to pay. Picture was misleading in brochure! One day it was totally packed! every square inch occupied.
Not enough space to cram sunloungers round pool/terrace area etc and it was very much towels at dawn!!!
Room: Got a nice sea view BUT make sure you don't get floor 1 as our room was directly over the stage and the amplifier/speakers so if we wanted early night like the first day, we didn't get it until after 12.30 and then we got groups of people still laughing etc outside our window while 1.00pm
Room beds single beds - no option for double bed and the beds were small and uncomfortable.
Food ok, no complaints for all inclusive. But only one restaurant- usually hotels offering all inclusive have other restaurants to choose from so a bit disappointed.
Snacks etc - what snacks........ no cake and tea in afternoon............???
drink ok but no free bottles of water on first day like other hotels with all inclusive I've been to. so had to buy a small bottle of water to manage until next day when we got a large bottle from supermarket.
We arrived at 12.30 evening so no bars or anything open to get a drink or anything to eat at hotel unless you went out of hotel to the coffee bar across the road.
Resort - there is nothing there just 2 supermarkets, a chinese restaurant and cafe/bar unless you go to Magaluf - I like quiet but not dead!!! Did see some posh villas on a walk round with the entertainments staff there and the views are great.
Boat trip to Palma great except sea too rough to dock outside hotel jetty so they paid for taxi to Magaluf then boat took us from there. same coming back.
Taxis reasonable and regular and we did use them to go to magaluf rather than the buses. You can walk but not in the heat -we did get so far one day walking then gave in and flagged a taxi.
Entertainment staff tried very hard and it was generally ok for daytime and evening we couldn't fault that. To be honest one of the guys was was wasted at that hotel he would go down great with somewhere like the Iberostar group of hotels he was really good.
Flight Spannair - no food is provided on flight except cheese and ham baguettes to buy which we bought on way back and they weren't very nice!..... couldn't prebook seats either so again everyone arrived early for the scramble to get seats together -we did get seats together. Prefer TC planes etc!
Liked Palma worth the trip and Magaluf is ok for the beach and shops such as tabacconist and thre's banks and cambios etc there which aren't in Cala Vinas.
So to sum up won't be going to Mallorca again and not to Cala Vinas.

Excellent and quiet place for grown up couples. Better than expected. Rooms are nice and tidy. Most of them with balcony and a stunning sea view. Stayed with "all in
clusive", and it really is all inclusive. Food is actually very good, but staying a week(or maybe two), you do get a bit tired of getting more or less the same food every day. Hotel service is excellent. Other restaurants in the area are limited. But then it's a 25 min walk to Magaluf or a 20 min taxidrive to the city of Palma.
Negative; being able to contact Thomas Cook to amend luggage limit before we travelled, or in fact, quite impossible to make any changes at all on their web site.

This was our second visit to this hotel. The location is fabulous with wonderful views from the bedroom. There was a good choice of food, and it was always tasty, pl
entiful and hot. This is a very friendly hotell with plenty of activities going on in the daytime. However nobody coerced you into joining in, so if you just want to do nothing at all, then that's absolutely fine. Being a teacher, the absence of children running round is absolutely wonderful! So peaceful! If I have to be really picky, the only thing I could suggest is that the opportunity to hire tea and coffee facilities for the bedroom would be great. An early morning cuppa on the balcony looking at that view would be just perfect!

My wife and I had a very relaxing week in the Sendito Cala Vinas, the hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. The food was very good (always hot) although I wou
ld imagine it would get quite boring if there for a fortnight. The resort itself is VERY quiet with probably only a pizza place a Chinese and one other retaurant/bar. You can walk into Magaluf, but get a taxi back.
I would recommend a taxi from the airport as the transfer goes up and down every street in Magaluf before getting to Cala Vinas

Lovely hotel in a quiet resort, great for a quiet getaway and a plus that it is adult onlys.
Room spacious enough with lovely views over the sea and the small cove/
beach
hotel clean and staff friendly. Entertainment at night is very disappointing but entertainment team work hard through the day to offer a variety of entertaiment like archery, walks and tai chi
restaurant large with views over the bay. Food fine but can get a little samey if staying more than a week.
Lovely pool with views over the sea and nice sun terrace, only downside is not enough parasols so will mean an early morning for anyone wanting one.
Resort very small with a couple of restaurants and bars outside of the hotel but easy links by bus or taxi or walking to Magalluf and further on to Palma Nova.
Bus stop outdside the hotel will take you to varios resorts and Palma itself very cheaply.
Thonmas Cook Rep Rita is a lovely lady and is on hand if you need any advice or want to book excusriosns.

1) (reception and hotel) upon arrival of our hotel we was offered a drink of ice cold orange juice which was most needed and was a nice touch and promptly checked in
which was about 10-30am and was promptly given a key to our room (at other hotels when we've checked in around that time we've had to wait till midday for our room) there are wi-fi wep keys on reception to use your phone/laptop, (we found the best signal up the stairs from reception towards the toilets on the sofas outside the conference rooms. we were a bit apprehensive as saga also used the hotel and thought it was going to be full of saga guests but was a mixed bag of all ages.
2) (room and maids) when we entered our room 1212 right at the top floor had a big entrance hallway and an adequate size bathroom and then into a not large but not cramped bedroom with very comfortable twins beds, first thing we did was go out to the balcony to see what view was like and we were greeted with amazing sea and pool views (emailed hotel a month before to request a high floor sea view which we got, thankyou)
3) (food and restaurant staff) we found the food of excellent quality and thought the staff were polite, friendly, efficient and made everyone welcoming, try and get in early as the perimeter tables (and was plenty of them) had terrific sea views, the only minuses we can add we were there for 2 weeks and the food started to get a bit repetitive and could do with a separate snack bar where you could just get a burger or hot dog for lunch rather than buffet style as the snacks were only in the restaurant after lunch and would be much better down on the pool area
4) (pools and pool bar) these were excellent areas plenty of sunbeds plenty of space but noticed a lack of parasols (which didn't bother us as we like the sun and heat but was a problem for others), on the jetty a glass bottomed boat turned up daily for a 2 hour trip which cost 17 euro we didn't do the trip we were waiting for a cooler day but never got one, the indoor pool was great and warm with a jacuzzi and high powered massaging jets the bar staff were brilliant always pleasant and polite and gave really great service the 2 main ones at night were marino and juan.
5) (the resort) the resort is very quiet with only 2 bars (1 english and 1 spanish) both ok but nothing brilliant, a chinese restaurant down the road and a couple of spanish restaurants, to magaluf was only a 20 minute walk or only 5 euro taxi ride away with a taxi rank opposite the hotel (its cheaper going but dearer back as its on a one way system and longer coming back)
6) (entertainment and activities) saving the best till last, the entertainment team consisted of 4 people, (the boss) Will, Paula (both spanish with excellent english) Sophie (english) and Jarmo (finnish), they were all excellent and did a great job of night time entertainment and daily activities worked brilliantly as a team and got people involved in the games

Lovely hotel, good food and very nice, helpful staff. Our holiday rep was first class - very informative about where to go and what to see.
Date of review:1 Jun 2011
The hotel is in an ideal location for peace and quiet. Food - a good choice but found it a bit bland. The staff in the restaurant were excellent, efficient and frien
dly. The hotel decor was tired and in some need of updating with exception of the reception area. All rooms have sea view which are some of the best views you could get on the island, but our bathroom suite certainly needed an update. Maid service good, with rooms kept clean. Efficient a/c. Pool - A good size pool area with plenty of comfortable sun loungers, but a lack of sufficient umbrellas which meant you had to get your sun loungers with an umbrella by 7.30am - not making a restful start to the day. We did understand that this was not a hotel policy but they were restricted to the number of umbrellas by the local council!!! The animation team were good and entertaining but did not pressure you to participate in anything you did not want to. Bar staff in around the pool and area and in hotel were friendly and helpful. The bar inside the hotel was only open at meal times. Pool bar was open from 10am till midnight as it was in the same area as where the evening entertainment was held. Overall it was a good holiday, very peaceful which is what we wanted - mainly due to having an age restriction of no one under 18.

We wanted a sun holiday with a short flight time and it was only a couple of hours from the UK - the weather was hot and reliable and Cala Vinas a good destination f
or a lazy time in, it although a bit isolated with not much to see or do in resort. We often walked to Magaluf in the evenings for a look at the wild side ( about a 15 min walk for fit people ) sitting on a bench there can provide a good hour or two of free entertainment - makes you proud to be British !
The Hotel Cala Vinas is a good quiet prospect for anyone wanting a child free break , the bar on all inclusive is very good but we heard some moans about price from those on half board. The food was very good but the menu repeated after the first week and was a bit short of the more expensive ingredients - good for fish and pork lovers ! We met a couple who were vegetarians and they were quite happy with it.
The best part about the hotel was the location - right on the water ( but no beach of its own ) there was a ladder to reach the sea which is deep enough and usually calm for swimming.

Flight - Thomas Cook Airlines sub-contracted the flight to Mint Airlines, very old plane, tatty but had T. Cook crew, only on it for 2 1/2 hours so did not spoil hol
iday.
Hotel - The setting is stunning, perfect hotel for a quite break. Very little around hotel but we only left hotel once. All inclusive deal is very good value, only moan was beer came in small glasses which mean't carrying trays full from the bar. Rooms are very clean and comfortable, we could only get room with single beds hence only 4/5.
Food - All inclusive deal is again very good, could be described as a little bland, but always fresh with plenty of choice, even the fusiest eater could find something to satisfy them.
Entertainment - Enthusiastic and keen is best description, most was a little naff and repetative, but what do you expect at this money.
Overall - Perfect location for a quite holiday, no kids or teenagers, just laze the week away. Just walk into Magiluf (10 minutes) and you realise how good a location / standard this hotel is. Only real moans are Mint Airlines and Parma airport which is the same chaos it has always been.

surprised. the hotel Sentido was an average 4 star hotel. Most .of the guests were over 50 this was fine by us as we are both 60. The food was exelent for an all inclusive hotel,. the big dissapointment was the evening entertainment, though i have seen worse. The room in my hotel was fabulous - once I was moved from a room under the restaurant.
The views were outstanding.
The staff - except from those on reception were gr
eat.
The entertainment was mostly dreadful, and far too loud.
The food was nothing to write home about.
Some of the things which went towards my relatively low rating were beyond the control of the staff but others were not. There was a lack of control of a group of really objectionable young men around the pool which ruined one day (and an absence of security when, despite being told that they had been asked to leave they returned that evening)
And I am convinced that the reception staff lied to me at the end of my holiday which resulted in a very difficult return to Britain for me.
BUT your rep was outstanding and I cannot thank her enough.

Reps, transport exchanges suberb and efficient. Trips good choice. Would have liked more half day trips and more evening culture ie Flamenco. Hotel not sure if its s
entido or wants to join in with Magaluf. Booked in party of 12 Liverpool young men who created disruption. Manager evicted them five hours later.after many complaints. Spanish football team came for weekend and used dining room in football strip comlete with towels. Dress code not checked. Still the sun lounger reservation from dawn with a towel. insufficeint parasols while a man preached daily about the dangers of the sun. Hotel bar, restaurant and animation staff very good and pleasant. Some still from a trip we made there 10 years ago. Reception staff off hand apart from night staff who were helpful when the huge cockroaches appeared in the bedroom on the last two nights. On checking other comparison sites since return we found they have reported infestation for two years and think the management know. We were left a card in the light facility preseumbaly so the roaches would scatter before we got into the room fully. Have travelled extensively for 45 years and this is the first instance of sharing a bedroom with cockroaches. The smell in the bathroom wasn't Euopean drains but indicative of their presence. Sorry it spoilt it for me as we would have returned frequently now we are retired but have been recommended other hotels in Majorca in just as select situations

Stayed in the Sentido Cala Vinas (over 18s) which is a just far enough away from the wild nights in the main strip of Magaluf, but which can be walked into and takes
approximately 15 mins (downhill mostly). We did walk back one night but would recommend getting a taxi and the cost was approximately 4-5 euros and took 5 mins. The hotel staff worked really hard (especially the restaurant staff). This was our first 'all inclusive' holiday and was a great success and we will definitely do it again. Our room was clean and pleasant and had a seaview which was lovely. The only criticism is that there were not enough umbrellas/parasols around the pool, but all in all a really relaxing break.

We have used TC for many years and have always found them very reliable. The hotel was as described and the location was perfect. Clean basic rooms with good overall
facilities and a great selection of food & drink. As many people do these days, we checked the Tripadvisor website prior to booking and the only primary concern was the lack of Parasols by the pool area. We were met with the same problem. It does sound rather tedious but the pool area is really huge. Plenty of loungers for guests and yet only 20 parasols ( I counted). However, I did request a parasol from the pool staff and a brand new one was brought out to me, this was after some other guests did the same. There was a sign by the pool stating that reserving loungers was forbidden yet it still happened, I awoke at 06:30 one morning to the sound of a Parasol base being dragged around the deck. So much for a lie in!!! Apart from those two minor niggles we had a great week and would go again. Amazing ocean view from our balcony. The transfers that TC arrange could be better. It always seems to be a struggle. I think that they should have direct transfer or maximum of three stops per coach or something along those lines.

Hotel overlooks the sea, and a small bay, a few minutes walk directly from the excellent hotel pool to the sandy beach (ideal for swimming). All inclusive was ideal,
with breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner, and drinks. Entertainment was okay, and one night excellent (Abba Reloaded performing).
The food was always very good with lots of choice, and the restaurant had floor to ceiling windows with incredible views.
Air conditioning was good and very controllable in the room. The view from the room was stunning, and also from the restuarant and upper bar. The bathroom was lined with marble and was very clean and a good size. The room was cleaned each day (usually while at lunch), so no pressure to leave the room too early. The layout of the hotel was very good, with many lifts (5 lifts) with the usual trip down to level 0 (the downstairs bar / pool / and to the beach), or reception (level 4) for the upper bar / restaurant / wifi area / reception / street level.
During the day, in addition to a wide variety of alcohol they also have a slushy machine (blue or orange drinks) which were ideal. The included beer was very good too, (only provided in small measures - not pints), so required more skill to convince my girlfriend that I wasn't drinking too much! Named drinks (such as Baileys) are not included in the all inclusive package, but the bar staff will suggest something similar (eg Whiskey cream), and I couldn't tell the difference. (I think the beer they serve in the all inclusive is San Miguel). We had lots of coffee's during the day in the upstairs bar after dinner.
Some evenings we walked to Magaluf (maybe a 15 minute walk), for some culture, and would thoroughly recommend doing that.
We only stayed 5 nights, and ideally would have stayed 7 nights.

If your looking for a place to sit back and relax this is the perfect place, but if you also want to do a couple of days of site seeing and/or have a couple of night
s out this will also suit as transport links were great, and the night life is only 15 minutes walk away.
The Hotel Location
In a small cove, can be quite windy but very quite surroundings. Bus links to attractions and the capital and cabs outside the front door, a small beach on the side of the hotel, and overlooks the Mediterranean sea. 15 Minutes into Magaluf, and if you find the right turnings a great beach walk!
The Hotel Accommodation
Lovely wooden floored room with patio, if you ask for a double bed you wont get a sea view but you will get a great view overlooking the beach and a fantastic sunset over the hills. Bathroom a little small, but overall room space in general is good. Fridge in room which is nice and cold to store drinks.
The Hotel Facilities
We were really lucky as most people did not know that the heated indoor pool was free for all inclusive guests! We had the pool for a few hours each day all to ourselves - very enjoyable! A good size with plenty of room to swim. The outdoor pool is big, lots of sunbeds and umbrellas and you can't go wrong with a pool side bar! Tennis court was in very good condition, but the 5 hole crazy golf was overgrown and was crying for attention.
The Hotel Entertainment
Bingo every night, which was a laugh, great mixture of all ages and once you have consumed a few drinks in the bar - great fun! The Bar staff were great, they remembered what drinks you liked and when sitting at the bar, they keep filling your glass up as soon as its empty! The entertainers all day long had smiles on their faces, always friendly and always happy to help! Plenty to do - Archery, Pool, Rifle Shooting, Bowls and plenty of little games to win champagne!
The Hotel Food
Fantastic, we were all inclusive - no complaints! Salads and sides were the same each day, but there was always 4 or 5 main dishes that were different everyday. The food was warm, but meats were cooked by the chef in front of you so that you knew it was always hot and fresh! Puddings - Yummy and Great - ice creams, cakes, jellies, Spanish style, English style plus more. Always lots of fruit available too. Breakfast - we had full English everyday but there was so much more there.
Overall, if you want a break that you can have full flexibility on the type of break you have, this is the place.

Lovely hotel, great variety of excellently presented and cooked food. We were there from 17th to 24th October and hotel was by no means full which may make the middl
e of the season somewhat different.
Area was hilly and may be an issue for the challenged, although taxis are cheap as are the buses.
As a word of caution, we stayed on the fourth floor which was directly under the restaurant with it's constant scrapping of chairs and the clip clop of heels during mealtimes. We would however return being wiser.

The hotel beds were very hard
The drawers in the rooms were half size - that is when opened they were half length
The piano bar had a piano but no piano player
The f
ood was very average
Reception refused to change a 100 euro note - The Thomas Cook rep was happy to oblige
But being locked out of our rooms because we had exceeded some ficticious credit limit was the limit with no apology just a rather arrogant man in reception saying that it didn't happen very often. Well it certainly won't happen to me again. I do not need to pay over £4,000 to be treated like a shady customer.
This hotel was advertised as a 4star hotel which it certainly was not. Thomas Cook are not doing themselves any favours because I would not trust their grading now.
The only redeeming feature of this hotel was most of the staff were helpfut and pleasant.
