Fantastic holiday in Sunny Beach. Victoria Palace Hotel was a disgrace, i would not give it a 2 star rating.
rooms were not very clean, towels not very good. We had to keep asking for towels. Some were not clean, which we took down to reception. Who said they would replace them, which they did not. Also they did not apologies about the state of the towels. We were there for 2 weeks, nearly everyday people were complaining the state of there rooms.

great resort shame about hotel
this hotel only has its location going for it. the food was awful either luke warm or cold. lifts are very temperamental staff range from off handish to downright rude there was no entertainment. pool and poolside are quite dangerous with many of the tiles coming off leaving sharp edges so wear swim shoes. mice were frequently seen running around the terrace lounge do not waste money on all inclusive as cheap to eat out the brochure says quality accommodation it is not in actual fact very dated and tired and does not warrant the four star rating. would go back to the resort but definitely not this hotel

What a fantastic holiday
After reading several negative reviews about this hotel i was starting to worry. But when I got there I swear these people had stayed in a different hotel our room was cleaned every day our bedding was changed 3 times in the 7 days we stayed there. The food choices were fantastic We were all inclusive and I ate a different type of meal every meal time. The staff are very friendly (except for the chubby bar man in the pool bar he just needs to learn to smile and realise it's his job to poor you a drink). The standard of decore is lacking top quality finish but we were only in our room at bedtime so who cares. The beach is amazing. The hotel lacks evening entertainment, but that was fine by me there are so many bars and clubs around it doesn't matter. The local drinks are fine and plentiful.
We enjoyed this so much we are booking to go again next year and are taking family and friends. We went 2nd july 2012 for 7 nights, the temperature averaged 38 degrees C everyday and we never saw a cloud in the sky. Bus fares are really cheap at 1 Lev and even the boat taxis are cheap at 10 levs. I recomend a visit to old Nesebar.

Fur Coat & No Knickers Comes To Mind
This hotel in name, looks, positioning is fantastic but that's where it ends. We found out too late what this hotel was really like to cancel our booking, it was a late deal..Wishing I had never read the written bad reviews / reports on Trip Advisor were just that, bad reviews by moaning previous guests I was all for giving it a go. How wrong, everything written previously about this Victoria Palace Hotel was spot on, All Sun Beds taken by 7am, Food pigs wouldn't eat, cold maybe the Bulgarian way but what was served up wasn't edible, 2 days in hospital testified to the Fish served up on the A-la-Carte night, or was that coincidence, I was the only one to have fish. Dont look under the beds, trying to retrieve some change I dropped, first handfull produced condoms, dried mouldy bread and shrivelled up grapes, the change stopped where it was.... Fresh towels, toilet rolls etc depends on your maid, a big tip early on helps to provide a better than usual service. Bed Sheets are rarely changed. Green Algae growing in the swimming pools, dosn't chlorine prevent this ! Charging for Sun Loungers on their own portion of beach, you name it the Hotel and its staff are up to it.

last family holiday in bulgaria
I was really worried before we went after having read lots of previous reviews about the hotel, saying it was dreadful, dirty, food was awful etc so on . We arrived in early hours of Saturday morning hotel looked great, we were shown to our rooms which were clean and tidy and were kept that way through out the holiday except when the cleaners couldn't get in to my older kids room due too much partying the night before. The food was fine we always found something to eat the only problem being that people were overly greedy on all inclusive and left plates full when they could have just taken what they were going to eat. If you went in late near the end of a session sometimes the choice was limited but that was as own fault cos you shouldn't leave it too late. The only downside was that my youngest son who was 11 would probably have benefited from a kids club because he did get bored as there were few children his age and nationality here. On the whole we had a really good holiday here and would definitely visit Bulgaria again.

Very disappointed with the hotel. Very unclean communal toilets, poor quality food which was poorly presented, although clean the towels were old, bedding clean but old and poor quality, one self service ice cream scoop to accommodate everyone in the restaurant, one barman serving drinks in the busy restaurant, abrupt reception staff, all sun loungers booked by 5.30am -not nearly enough sun loungers for the hotel guests, no space between sun loungers,

5 star - not a chance
Our main issue was the food. All main courses were stone cold no matter what dish you opted for and on more than one occasion we found the chicken to still be pink in the middle, therefore being undercooked which could have made us ill. Veal and chicken seemed to be the dishes every night. The dessert was the same variety of sponge cake with different colour toppings for each night of our stay also. The only meal which was hot was the soup which tended to be beef or minestrone every day. For breakfast we lived on croissants as the cooked option again was stone cold and on one of the first few mornings of our break after eating the cooked breakfast I vomited not long after returning to the room. Half board and All Inclusive guests were kept separate. Us half board guests were only able to use one bar and restaurant and were unable to use the rest of the hotels facilities, this really did not make us feel welcome and put you off drinking in the hotel. As long as we are prepared to pay for our drinks I really could not see why you could not use any of the bars within the hotel.
The hotel room itself was ok but again not what I would expect from 5 star. The room was carpeted and this was not hoovered once during our stay, if even at all before we got there, a layer of dust was surrounding the edge of the carpet all the way around the room. The bed sheets had what looked like blood stains on them and were carefully placed on the bed so that the stains were not visible until you moved them to get into bed, the towels were also stained. As for the toilet paper the Asda Smart Price range is more luxurious.
