Great week at the Aguamarina
This is a great resort. A beautiful horeshoe bay with golden sand and turquoise blue sea. The beach is good for children as it is shallow for about ten metres. The hotel is good, we were lucky and had a sea view and balcony.
Our room was in block A.
The restaurant is a buffet style with adequate seating. It is well run and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was very varied and for evening meals there were chefs cooking meat and fish in addition to lots of other meals. Breakfast always had lots of choice too. We were half board.
The bar could get very busy and sometimes you queued for a while.
The room wasn't very big but big enough with balcony space. We paid for a fridge so we could keep our son's milk and dairy cold. Luckily the local supermarket at Coves Noves sold Cravendale which made life easier if you don't like the Menorcan milk.
There are lots of pools, a brilliant children's one, a jacuzzi pool, and at least 2 more, one adults only.
We only saw the entertainment a couple of times but it was good for kids.
The room was cleaned every day if you wanted. The bed was quite comfy, the air con worked well and it had a good shower too.
Arenal D'en Castell has some nice places to eat and nice beach bars.

did not enjoy
not what was expected fresh meat stil raw when they cooked it fresh in front of you no choice for the children it was always the same stuff no different puddings. Sheets dirty and stained on the bed had to be changed 3 times and the maid made me check the last lot before making the beds. There were ants in toilets outside wasps flyin around outside when around the pool did not enjoy one bit as it cost us alot more money as we ate out because the food was very poor

Great for the money
Just arrived home from aquamarina . We had a great time stayed in block b with a view of the trees but half way through the week we asked for a move with a sea view which the reception allowed which was perfect :).As we moved we experienced the food in both blocks and it was the same , block a was smaller and had a sea view . kids clubs were good my daughter enjoyed with her new friend sydnie , it gave us a bit of chill out time too .Found the gym it was basic but ok .beach excellent and easy to get to . Food was fine had seconds most days .Bar staff were fine and jokey I saw reviews saying they are grumpy
( I am not surprised after seeing the way some people spoke to them ).The best 3* I have been on I don't get the moaners maybe they should go 5* next time . was gutted to leave especially as our friends roy and Claire has a second week .

Excellent hotel and location for all
We have visited for the past 8 years and will be going again in 2013.
Everybody at the Hotel is so helpful in trying to ensure all of their guests have the best they can offer.
The beach is as good and as safe for children as you will find anywhere, the grounds and pools are all of a very high standard,
For eating, although this is buffet style (as with most hotels nowadays) there is a wide selection for all palets. We have never in all the years been found wanting.
The staff are all very friendly from the management right through to the gardeners.
As you will gather we are certainly one of ,we are sure many very satisfied visitors

the hotel is a good base, but the cove at the foot of this hotel is what people go for the sea is clean and safe for everyone
the hotel is in a good location with good facilities, the food is good value for money. the thomas cook rep was pleased to help and always there when he said he would be. in my opinion the beach and views and great for all ages, clean and safe.

not what is advertised very poor
Just got back from menorca we had lovely holiday however the hotel was a huge dissapointment! Half of it was closed was only one small buffet restaurant where on our first night told i wasnt allowed to take my 3 month old baby in her buggy into! Our first dining experience was me holding her trying to eat and my husband holding my 3 year old who fell asleep due to a long day travelling and a very late cinner didnt open till 7.15 personally very late for kids. We chose thehotel under the impression it was family criendly as you can imagine we were very upset by this. Luckily my father had come out to join us and had to look after our baby most nights for dinner. The food wasnt good repetitive no taste no flavour very bland. We ate out locally quite often and were allowed thebuggy! The staff were moody unpleasant and not friendly they were extremely understaffed three people to clear and serve tidy the whole restaurant we often had finished dessert with dirty plates covering the table. We were half board and charged over the odds for drinks in plastic cups half measures it was cheaper to drink off site! The room was crowded my three year old slept on a bed with a bunk on top of him hit his head twice! The only good thing was the location pools and beach and the entertainment but again 8.30 for kids is late. There was only one girl who did everything andwas ovdr worked, there wereno shades provided either by the pool. Please be warned before going here!!

Good value for money family holiday
We went here for the kids facilities and because of the reasonable price.
The hotel is a little tired and very much at the cheap & cheerful end of the market.
That said it was clean, a short (steep) walk to the beach and lots of pools and things for kids to do. the evening children's entertainment in particular was very good. If you have young children, they will love it.
The food was ok as well with a lot of choice. The beach was nice as well
I can't help think that just a bit more effort in terms of maintenance, decor and gardening would lift the atmosphere of the whole hotel.
The weather was hot and we had a nice holiday, but would not rush back
