Continuing the small and beautiful theme, there are just three ships making up the Regent Seven Seas Fleet. They have a big reach however, and whenever and wherever you want to travel - and for how long - you may find a cruise to meet your needs. For the summer months, cruises around Northern Europe take in Scandinavia, St Petersburg and the Baltic capitals. Longer cruises head to the Mediterraneanand explore all of the diversity of the continent from Stockholm to Rome.

Lengthy cruises around the Middle East are scheduled for this year and next, with between 21 and 38 nights on board and voyages taking in ancient Biblical sites including Nazareth, Jerusalem, and the Valley of the Kings - as well as the Greek Islands, Egypt, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

Further afield, cruises around the Indian Ocean offer a taste of India and the Far East, stopping off at Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. On the other side of the world, Australasian cruises run between Sydney and either Auckland or Singapore. Regent Seven Seas also offer transatlantic cruises with US coast cruises making the most of the spectacular colours of New England and Canada in the autumn.

Regent Seven Seas ships sail down the South American coastline on cruises lasting between a brief 10 days on board between Buenos Aires and Rio, or an epic 70 night cruise visiting 40 ports between Buenos Aires through the Panama Canal and back again taking in the entire continent.

All the rooms available on Regent Seven Seas ships are suites and 97% offer sea views. The low ratio of passengers to crew also ensures excellent service on board. The Seven Seas Voyager and the Seven Seas Mariner are sister ships with a modest 354 cabins. Unique in the cruise industry, all cabins have balconies and are spacious and generously equipped with flat screen TV, safe, minibar and fridge. In standard cabins, the beds can be converted into a queen size double. Marble bathrooms have a full size bath.

There is one main dining room, the Compass Rose Restaurant, where the spectacular views are matched by the fine food and faultless service. There are three alternative dining options - Latitudes, Signatures and La Veranda. The Dress code is casual but comfortable during the day but formal evenings require a dark suite or dinner jacket for men and a cocktail dress for the ladies. If dressing up for dinner seems a drag, passengers can take advantage of the 24 hour room service.

If the fine food runs the risk of piling on some pounds, you can run it off on the jogging track, or burn off some calories playing shuffleboard, paddle tennis or at the golf driving and practice cages. Fitness facilities include a gym, beauty salon and sauna. Lots of sunbathing space around the deck might suit the more sedentary.

Similarly, the only games some passengers may want to play are in the casino, and all three Regent Seven Seas ships have one on board. Guests who want to exercise their mind can do so in the on board library. After all the exertions, entertainment can be found in the two-tier constellation theatre, the Star Nightclub and Horizon Lounge. Other facilities include a business centre with internet access and an observatory.

The Navigator was built in 1999 and was refitted last year to bring the décor and standards right up to date. As with its big sisters, each of its 252 cabins is on the outside of the ship offers an ocean view. The service and the standards are just the same with one less restaurant option.

For passengers who want to spoil themselves, a Regent Seven Seas cruise is the obvious choice. No matter the destination, a luxury cruise experience is a certainty. With shore excursions, transfers and gratuities as part of the package, there is nothing to do but travel in style and fully explore each of the dream destinations these three ships sail to.
