Destinations and itineraries
Explorer of the Seas sets sail from its homeport of New York year round, offering a range of magical Caribbean cruises, along with some excursions to Canada and New England, Bermuda and The Bahamas.
A twelve day Bermuda and Caribbean adventure in August sees Explorer of the Seas set sail from the Big Apple, calling at Kings Wharf in Bermuda, St Maarten in the Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico and Haiti before returning to the city that never sleeps. Before embarking on the voyage of a lifetime, guests have a chance to soak up the sights and sounds of New York City such as the Statue of Liberty, Times Square and Broadway.
For a slightly cooler cruise, come the end of August, Explorer of the Seas sets sail on an eleven-day Canada and New England cruise, exploring the magic and charm of America’s North East with the old state house of Massachusetts and the Acadia National Park of Maine. The ship also calls at New Brunswick and Nova Scotia on the final leg of her journey where guests are free to explore Victorian towns and Hillside Citadels.
Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas is a grand ship that has the capacity and variety to satisfy every taste and every age of traveller. From a diverse range of outstanding restaurants to an endless list of facilities, this modern ship offers the kind of relaxation, indulgence and fun only found on a Royal Caribbean Cruise.
With two lobbies soaring 11 decks high and a four deck high promenade the length of two football fields, Explorer of the Seas is filled to the brim with activities. Guests can test their skills on an ice skating rink, jogging track, rock climbing wall and nine-hole golf. There are also plenty of treats on offer at the Day Spa and Fitness Centre where guests have the chance to relax and rejuvenate in blissful luxury. For the younger ones, Explorer of the Seas provides an array of exciting activities for children of all ages. The on board children’s club has as a video arcade, scavenger hunt and sports competitions, whilst the Adventure Beach family area allows everyone to enjoy some old-fashioned seaside sun.
Out of 1,557 well-equipped staterooms on board Explorer of the Seas, 939 have an ocean view, offering passengers stunning views of all the destinations en route. Even when all of these cabins have double occupancy, the ship provides a crew to passenger ratio of one for every 2.6 passengers, meaning one of the ship’s well-trained crew will be there to offer their unparalleled knowledge at every turn. After a long day of activities and maybe some over-indulgence, passengers can head back to an airy, comforting and relaxing room, tastefully decorated and well equipped with a safe, minibar, vanity unit and television with pay movies.
Explorer of the Seas offers a vast range of well-prepared, traditional cuisine that is bound to suit all tastes - from high-end Italian food to all-American burgers in a retro setting. The three level formal dining with its grand staircase and golden velvet curtains offers passengers a chance to dine in complete luxury. Royal Caribbean's flexible My Time Dining program at dinnertime allows passengers to choose between assigned dining with pre-determined tablemates, or opt for a more flexible approach and pick a preferred mealtime. For a more relaxed dining experience, the Café Promenade, located right in the heart of the lively Royal Promenade, is a great place to grab a pizza, sandwich or coffee to go, day or night.
