Manny Fontenla-Novoa Is Given The Golden Key: Thomas Cook CEO is the fifth person ever to receive the Turkish accolade.

Manny Fontenla-Novoa, Group CEO of Thomas Cook Group plc has received one of Turkeys most prestigious travel industry accolades - The Golden Key for Antalya.

Presented at the company's annual conference that took place in Turkey in December - Manny is only the fifth person ever to be awarded this honour.

The Golden Key is only ever given to someone who has not only contributed greatly to the development of a city in economical, cultural and social aspects but who has also shown their personal commitment and interest for a city.

Manny Fontenla-Novoa, CEO Thomas Cook Group plc said, "I am honoured and exceptionally proud to have been given this award.  Turkey has and always will be a key part of our holiday programmes that we remain fully committed to.  I look forward to continuing to work alongside the hoteliers in Antalya and all of those involved in the Turkish industry in the future"

The Golden Key for Antalya was awarded to Manny by the Mayor of Antalya - Mr Menderes Tural.

This latest acknowledgement for services to the tourism industry follows December's accolade from Spain, as Manny was presented with the Order of Isabella the Catholic - the Spanish equivalent of the UK's OBE.
