Local Family Become Face of Direct Holidays: Local family, the Salmons, from Truro will be seeing a lot more of themselves from 31st July when they become the face of leading holiday company, Direct Holidays.

Back in June 2008, Andy and Beverley Salmon and their two children Daniel, aged 6 and Becky, aged 3, were booked and ready to head off on their Direct holiday to Ibiza. Meanwhile, as part of a multi-million pound marketing campaign, Direct Holidays was searching the nation for families it felt represented its customers to become the face of Direct Holidays 2009.  On coming across the Salmon family, Direct Holidays knew they had met their ideal candidates and, without delay, followed them to Ibiza to snap the family in action.

Renowned as the company who offers the same holidays for less, Direct Holidays wanted to use its best advocates – its customers - to promote its holiday offering for 2009.  Using real life snapshots and quotes from customers on actual holidays, the Salmon family will now be seen across Direct Holidays brochures, adverts in national and regional media, direct mail that will reach millions of homes nationwide and online at www.directholidays.co.uk.

Andy Salmon said: “Year after year, we book our holiday with Direct as, quite simply, you get the same holiday for less without any hidden extras.  So, when Direct Holidays got in touch, we couldn’t wait to share our holiday experiences and the chance to become the face of such a well-known holiday brand is an opportunity not to be missed.”

Andy added: “The funny thing is that I’m a postman which means I’ll also be hand-delivering the actual brochures and leaflets!  It’ll be great to be reminded of our holiday, but I am expecting a few funny looks from people when I give them their post!”

The Salmon family is one of three families that will be featured in the new marketing campaign that launches on 31st July 2008.

Simon Carter, executive director of marketing said “Direct Holidays is about real holidays for real people. Ninety-five per cent of our customers say they would recommend Direct Holidays to their family and friends so who better to promote our offering than customers who have experienced the benefits of booking a holiday with Direct Holidays first hand.”

He added: “When we first spoke with Andy and Beverley, we knew they were just what we were looking for.  As regular Direct Holiday customers, they understand our brand and have benefited themselves from the great deals we offer.  They were a dream to work with and I’m sure they will be as delighted as we are with the results.”

Direct Holidays latest brochures for Winter 2008/9 and Summersun 2009 go on sale on July 31st 2008 featuring more holidays, more destinations and more local departures than ever before.

Unlike other holiday companies, Direct Holidays only sell its holidays direct which means they pass the savings directly on to the customer. They don’t cut anything out, and there are no hidden extras or hefty supplements to worry about. Benefits such as in-flight meals, transfers and a generous baggage allowance are all included in the price. And, to ensure customers get the best deal, Direct Holidays also offer a Lowest Price Guarantee.

In addition to these great deals, Direct Holidays will be offering a series of unbeatable incentives for those who book early including savings of up to £200 per booking, free child places, low deposits of just £30 per person and half price insurance.
