Disney Delights For First Summer Flight: Thomas Cook celebrates first flight to Florida
Families travelling to Florida from Manchester Airport on 1st May 2008 were treated to a feast of Disney delights as Thomas Cook Airlines celebrated its first flight of the summer season to Sanford Airport in the USA.
With a Disney themed check-in area complete with bunting and balloons to welcome customers, attendants handed out special lanyards and Disney pins to children, along with Minnie and Mickey ear headbands. The surprises did not stop there though, as they were boarding the aircraft, all children were presented with a Mickey Mouse cuddly toy. On board, children were invited to take part in a Disney quiz, with a special prize for the winner.
Frank Pullman, managing director of Thomas Cook Airlines, said: "Many of our customers who are flying to Florida are taking the trip of a lifetime. With our first flight of the summer season to Florida, we wanted to capture the essence of Disneyland and start the magic here at Manchester Airport for our customers."
Thomas Cook Airlines will operate 10 flights per week to Sanford Airport in Orlando and will transport nearly 75,000 passengers to the family hotspot this summer.
